The Road to Version 1
« on: April 02, 2006, 02:31:46 PM »
I'm pretty much done with writing new code.  This is the list of components as it stands now:

  • Ice Island Level Two Restoration
  • The Mysterious Vial
  • Additional Elminster Encounter
  • Angelo Notices Shar-teel
  • Finishable Kagain Caravan Quest
  • Coran and the Wyverns
  • Kivan and Tazok
  • Branwen and Tranzig
  • Safana the Flirt
  • Appropriate Albert and Rufie Reward
  • Place Entar Silvershield in His Home
  • Scar and the Sashenstar's Daughter
  • Quoningar, the Cleric
  • Shilo Chen and the Ogre-Magi
  • Edie, the Merchant League Applicant
  • Flaming Fist Mercenary Reinforcements
  • Creature Corrections
  • Creature Restorations
  • Creature Name Restorations
  • Minor Dialog Restorations
  • Audio Restorations
  • Store, Tavern and Inn Fixes and Restorations
  • Item Corrections and Restorations
  • Area Corrections and Restorations
  • Permanent Corpses
  • Elven Charm & Sleep Racial Immunity
  • The Original Saga Music Playlist Corrections
  • Sarevok's Diary Corrections

I still need to create the documentation, but once that's finished, I'd like to go ahead and get beta testing started.  While vanilla BG1 testing is going on, I can work on the Tutu conversion.

Barring any major tragedies, and depending on how fast the testers test (and don't disappear), I'm hoping to have this all done by the end of the month.

If anyone has any last-minute additions or suggestions, please speak up now.  :)

Oh, and I've still got to tra-ify everything and fill out the ALLOW_MISSING section for the TOTSC files.

That's fine.  As long as I can get most of the bugs fixed, that's OK.

All components have been converted to Tutu except for Creature Restorations (aka, "The Giant Wall of Ass"), Item Corrections/Restorations, and Store/Tavern Fixes and Restorations.  The Ice Island restoration is going to take some looking into--I might borrow the component from HardenCooner's Tutu Addon thingamabob.

The Elven Charm Fix is not needed, as it's in Tutufix.  The Original Saga Soundtrack stuff I don't think is necessary for Tutu, as it might mess up whether people want to use BG1 or BG2 music.

So, in summary--I'm getting there.  It shouldn't be too much longer.  :)

Hey Icelus,

Will the next BETA version still be compatible with BG1 & TotSC (not just Tutu)?  And have you fixed those FotD installation problems?

Thanks,
LoneRogue

There will be two versions, one for BG1 and another for Tutu. Specific changes made for Tutu will not be afflicting the normal BG1UB, which will remain compatible with Baldur's Gate and TotSC.

Thank you to all of the beta testers for your help up to this point.  Hopefully most, if not all, of the bugs have been squashed.

I'll be starting work on the Tutu version shortly, and I will likely need beta testers for that, too.

Right now, I need a beer.

I wish I could have been of more help, Ice...I went through the game up to Baldur's Gate but that was it (plus a MoveToArea to check the missing Ice level restored by DevSin). However I had the possibility to check a good number of fixes...
