Bg1 shields and helmets on skeletons. How?

Look at the skeletons. They are wearing bg1 shields and bg1 helmets. How is that possible? I would say, if at all possible, that tecnique should be used on characters as well. It would be soooo cool!

I just had a peek at the 1pp forum, and it said that the whole " bg1 shields and non-mirroring of shields/off-hand weapons" are not possible to incorporate in the bg2 engine. Please tell me if it's actually doable. Have I misread?

That means that this mod won't modify avatars (animations). The in-game animations will still use these weird shields and so, because BG1 animations lack two-weaponing versions.

But this mod changes the paperdolls (your character in the inventory screen) and shields / armors / helmets images in your inventory.

Try it out ! You can uninstall it later if you don't like it.

At the time of the screenshot, I hadn't installed 1PP yet(just did, looks great), so it has no effect on my question.
A clarification of my question: How if it possible to have two seperate animations for shields? Helmets?

I'd like to know how you get such a crisp font for the speech text, I've been looking for a way to change mine all night, can't stand the BG2 look any longer

Nah, I already have the GUI. In my game the actual dialog text is still the same old BG2 font and after playing IWD and IWD2 recently I find I can hardly read the ugly text in BG2. Your screenie seems to be a higher resolution easy to read text and Im wondering how to get the same.

Been googling and forum searching all night but can't find a way, I know you can change the ingame font in the .ini but it ends up being really small text and  I don't see how to make it larger it also changes some graphic effects like the inventory title and mage book heading, not very pretty.

The only graphical enhancement i have is tutuGUI... But i play at 1024x768. Maybe thats the trick. Dunno

Hmm, I use 1024x768, perhaps it's just different game versions or maybe a feature of TutuV6?? I'm using V4 at the moment.

The BG1 helmet animations are leftovers from BG1, and the skeleton animations from BG1 are re-used in BG2. The playable races, however--humans, elves, dwarves, halflings--use new animations. They can face 16 directions, not just 8 like in BG1, and have different armour/weapon animations to go along with them.

Oh, and the way that a skeleton and a human using the exact same helmet can have two different animations is the same way a halfling can use the exact same helmet and not have it appear floating two feet above his head.  In the helmet item file, it's given an animation ID such as H1 or H2 or something. The game knows to use animation BLAH for humans, BLOH for skeletons, and BLEH for halflings. The halfling and human animations are the same, though, just at different coordinates (the head).  The skeletons is totally different, though.
