Noobermeet (G3): 1 - I'm not sure when G3 came into existence.  It's a bit of a Red-Headed-Stepchild as far as I can tell... it's there & all, & occasionally does... stuff... but no one likes to acknowledge its existence, even though it does good things... still, 1 point

Surely that would only be gratifying if you were the most suckiest? And then, might jc's feelings be hurt? What if the Dwarven Moderator won? Everyone would be pissed off.

That's why I asked Imrahil to do it. He doesn't pull any punches, which has both its pros and cons, but for the purposes of a reverse popularity analysis, is perfectly suitable.

The Dwarven Moderator is a fictional character I made up when St. Jo renounced us. He was intended to be the kind of mod we deserve. There's a post somewhere, probably in the year in review thread.

@Bex - I remember you saying that we deserved a Dwarven moderator and I guess I assumed it was a respectful title for EFCB's new moderator but I don't know who the new moderator is. jc is putting the lockdown on religion and Hitler, and Ice has been floating around but Ice is always floating around.

Who is the new moderator of EFCB? Do we have one?

I'm pretty sure jc doesn't want to even try appointing another poor soul to the post. I make my references to the Dwarven Moderator instead of having to list all the mods who I presume are going taking a general "If I see anything really terrible I'll lock it" position.

By the way, are we sure that person posting as Imrahil is really him? Last I heard from Imrahil he was beginning his pilgrimage to the monument in memory of Gandhi, and I'm sure he's found several more vegans to honour, and is not nearly ready to come back. I don't think he's going to be happy to find that someone has been impersonating him.

More or less. The brief history of EFCB moderators suggests that it's something I should not wish on a friend I wish to keep.

So it's more or less martial law and all those people with "global moderator" powers have been granted license to wield their truncheons.

We can do that in public?  I didn't think it was legal in all 50 states...

Here's a suggestion: Pick the moderator of EFCB from one of the more vocal participtants of EFCB. At best, you don't hurt a friendship. At worst? Who knows. Try it for seventy-two hours, see what happens.

*cough* It's not legal for global moderators to do beat downs in any of the 50 states.

Yeah, it is illegal, but you can travel to some more remote regions of the world and practice for later.

@vocal participants: A tag team of Joe, Drew, irenicus, Dosh, Lu, BR and many others swapped at random during the week could be fun.

Yes, because this method has worked so well elsewhere.

I don't think it's such a great idea... if we're making suggestions of this sort I'd rather point to a person who has been at EFCB for a long time, doesn't post that much (yeah a moderator who gets to much involved in "discussions" is not a good idea) yet reads the forum regulary and might even be willing to take the job...

I don't really think the forum needs an individual assigned moderator when there's a good few of us global mods around.

P.S. You're all banned.

@Lu - Dosh = Discharger

Yes, because this method has worked so well elsewhere.

I don't know, I think it could be pretty amusing to see what one of the blatherers would do for 72 hours with full moderators' powers; locking, baneing, ip tracking, ah, the possibilities. What would I do with the POWAR?

Indiscriminate baneings, lock downs and starting inappropriate topics, ip bombing, suss out e-mails and spam, spam, spam, but I'd let the undies thread stay open.

Sadly, I know that's an inside joke and the origins. To me, this indicates that I have hung around way too much, and I should start composing my leaving forevah post. I'll wait until Eral comes back.

I quite like the Dwarven moderator's style: although there is a bit more thread locking than I am ready for. Still, look at the joy he is bringing to St. Jo's life - something tells me we owe her that.

I am a bit worried that now I have returned from mini-hiatus Regullus will announce she is Leaving Forevah. And that means I won't see any Lily-without-a-hat or Ketra-with-fur avatars.
