I prefer fruit. Bananas I like. They have the perfect shape to them.  ;)

This thread is making me drool! :)

Hmm...love potatoes, especially baked, with leftover vegetarian chillie, cheese and sour cream.  Also eggplants are fantastic, in a ratatouille or fried eggplant layered with a tomato and garlic sauce, basil and mozzarella cheese.  Yum!!  My dining pleasure would also be very hollow without lots of tomatoes!

I like barley.  And hops.  With a little yeast.  Aged.

Yes, that too.

Mmm. Eggplant is very tasty. I wish I'd had some for dinner. With tomatoes and mozzerella, like KIrving said. Instead, I had PowerBar Surprise. (As in, "Surprise! It's dinnertime, and you're still at work!")

Asparagus falls in league with lima beans and brussel sprouts for me. I have had these on rare occasions when they were prepared very nicely, but they are low on the list of things I would choose.

I am fond of Iceberg lettuce converted into myriad sallads, and broccoli, while repulsive on its own, is a perfect vehicle for any number of sauces, dressings, dips and butters.  I also like cellery.

You could just skip the thin explanation and say salad dressing/sauce/dip/butter is your favourite vegetable.  Butter's... almost made from vegetables.

The only veggie I have any sort of fondness for is brocolli.

Certainly not!  The above are of no utility without anything to dip in them, and what better than a broccoli, a celery stalk, a ripe cherry tommato?  Certain dips lend themselves to potato and corn chips, which are made from vegetables, but there are few that do not well compliment a cellery stalk or a broccoli.

Red capsicum (sweet pepper? bell pepper?) I especially like it marinated in crushed garlic and coriander barbequed. This is also a very good way to treat asparagus. I am not sure if this counts, because I'm told Brussel sprouts taste good when marinated in olive oil and rosemary - and the idea that Brussel sprouts can taste nice is a challenge for me.
Pumpkin - roasted.
Potatoes - not mashed, but every other way. I'd vote for sweetcorn too, but I'm trying to keep my cultural bias in favour of carbohydrates in check.
Broccoli. I remember the outrage GB Senior caused when he said he didn't like broccoli. It was heartening to see broccoli lovers (and broccoli farmers) standing up for the Vege.

You are not casting nasturtiums on coriander -especially when I could have meant fresh coriander, except I didn't, it's too hard to grow in Melbourne, too cold for it 9 months of the year- in the Vegetable thread are you? While juxtaposed to the word barbequed? Tsk, tsk, tsk.

*Good insult, though. Heavy disdain, pithy, to the point, 10/10*

I don't like it when my lobsters bite me, or when my butter tries to strangle me. Why would I accept it when a vegetable assaults my senses? Coriander is not quite on the level of celery for sheer offensiveness, but it's close. Sticking a case of it in warm water to crisp it up is among my least favourite activities. So... nasturtiums away!

Coriander comes in cases? You stick it (or celery) in warm water to crisp it up? ???
Do you object to lemongrass too?

Carrots are good.  Broccoli, squash, onions, mushrooms... OK, I'm pushing it.

But peas.  They're like little balls of sunshine.  If the sun were green.  And not shiny.

May I have your permission to put that quote in my signature?

I like brocoli, mushrooms.. I think that's all. Fruit are my favorites. Like Blood Raven, I really like those bananas :)

Soybeans, lightly blanched or steamed. Take your pick, I don't care. They're both fantastic.
Imbriglicated!
