SUBMIT TO KONG!
« on: December 17, 2005, 05:40:28 PM »
King Kong is everything Sky Captain wishes it was-- definitely the best Pulp Adventure in recent memory, maybe the best to be put to the screen. The characters are fun, the action is good, and it's quite probably the most visually stunning movie I have ever seen-- catch it in theaters. Skull Island is definitely the heart of the film-- things start to drag ass once they move things back to New York, but at three hours things are bound to lag at some point. The Tender Moments between Anne and Kong don't really appeal to me, but at three hours you're bound to need a piss break somewhere, so it works out.

Don't take the kids, though. Things get pretty extreme on Skull Island.

The New York return scenes were far too overstretched, and it does impact on the movie's overall feeling. Peter Jackson needs to learn to LET THINGS END. It's still a fun movie though overall

Narnia first, then Kong. Plus whatever Netflix sends me inbetween. Old Japanese movies, mostly.

I heard a review of that film where they slated the fights with Kong vs T rex. HOW DARE THEY.

Yeah I seen a review that said "Kong lives in Jurassic Park".

But I like Kong.  What was that other film with a giantish ape, Kid Joe (?)...something like that anyway.

Mighty Joe Young, the Disney one? That was a sad movie -- or at least I thought it was when I saw it back when I was little.

The original Kong had dinosaurs. It even had a fight with Kong vs. Tyranosaurus. This is not a recent development.

If I understand this correctly, you took Kong's side, Corvis? I doubt Tyra had a chance then
Sorry, I misread 'It' as'I'. So this post makes no sense now
