I can't seem to find it (you know wisdom 6...) so if anyone would be so kind as to provide me with an answer...

150. If this ends up becoming a massive problem it can pretty easily be raised, but since PMs can be saved off in bulk by simply saving your HTML screen with Save As, they're quite easy to archive and delete.

No, 150 is enough, no need for raising, I was afraid it's 50 or something... Thanx for an answer JC.

Er, presumably global mods get an infinite number, yes?

Yes, there are certain membership groups who have unlimited PMs, including global moderators. I myself currently have 337 but I didn't want to brag or anything.

Dammit, I was going to brag about 270.  Oh well.  My only solution is to release more buggy mods, and have them translated, then have the translators remind me at least 4 times to update the mod with the translation.  (Seriously, that's all I seem to get.  Bug reports (bad) and update reminders from translators/Mac converters (which is good))

Oh. Okay.

Well, I do keep the e-mail notifications as backup, anyway.

Newt had always suspected that people who regularly used the word "community" were using it in a very specific sense that excluded him and everyone he knew.

Well, I do keep the e-mail notifications as backup, anyway.

This is a good time to make this public service announcement:

Due to some XYZ in the forum configuration, if you have misconfigured your e-mail address to something invalid and have PM notifications turned on, I end up getting an e-mailed notification of the PM you have just received.

I do try not to read them once I've determined that the notification is not, in fact, for me, but this has once or twice resulted in me reading something I was almost certainly not meant to read. So, as a friendly reminder, check your user profile and ensure that your e-mail address is correct, unless you like it when I get e-mail notifications containing the text of your incoming PMs.

(the ancillary public service announcement is that since it's drop-dead easy for forum administrators to read your PMs, it's probably best to keep your very deep personal secrets off of forum PM systems unless you really trust the administrator.)

The administrator says this in a manner that seems to suggest he would not consider himself trustworthy. Just a feeling. ;)

Would any mortal be able to resist the temptation?  Especially if it was dropped right into your inbox?  Not indefinitely, I'm sure.

I knew that, that's why I keep my truly important PMs in an untranslateable language. :)

I believe it was Navajo Code Talk.

(Uh, not that I've read her PMs or anything.)

No, insider slang.

Hm, now I hope you won't post them here for amusement.  :-[   ;)
