Well, I do keep the e-mail notifications as backup, anyway.
This is a good time to make this public service announcement:
Due to some XYZ in the forum configuration, if you have misconfigured your e-mail address to something invalid and have PM notifications turned on,
I end up getting an e-mailed notification of the PM you have just received.
I do try not to read them once I've determined that the notification is not, in fact, for me, but this has once or twice resulted in me reading something I was almost certainly not meant to read. So, as a friendly reminder, check your
user profile and ensure that your e-mail address is correct, unless you like it when I get e-mail notifications containing the text of your incoming PMs.
(the ancillary public service announcement is that since it's drop-dead easy for forum administrators to read your PMs, it's probably best to keep your very deep personal secrets off of forum PM systems unless you really trust the administrator.)
