Ye old BG1 Hard-Coded Cheats
« on: November 07, 2005, 05:05:20 PM »
People, I know many of you are purists and don't utilize the in-game cheat codes, but did you remove them in the Tutu converson?  It's gonna be hard going up against the basiliks w/o them.

I've recently tried to use Cheats:FirstAid(); and I keep getting a message 'active stack' but no potions, etc.

I've modified both SOA and Baldur .ini files and this occurs.  So what gives?  Plus CTRL-TAB doesn't open the cheat window, but CTRL-SPACE (SOA cheat mode enabled does).

Thanks.

You'll have to use the cheat codes that were made available in the BG2 game.  The BG1 cheats are indeed hard-coded and can't really be carried over by the Tutu version.

You know, I"ve tried the CTRL-R, CTRL-Y stuff with no joy.  I might have to add another line to one of the .ini files whether it be Baldur directory or SOa directory since I don't know where Tutu is pulling its info from.

Yeah, you'll have to add DebugMode=1 to the baldur.ini file in your BG2 directory.

Then do CLUAConsole:EnableCheatKeys() in the console.

Thanks all - clarifies things immensely.  BG1NPC project has already kicked in and is awesome.  Can't wait to do the Sirine's Call next.  Another few weeks till I can get Indira and Finch.  Can't wait.

I've altered my ini file, but I still can't enable cheats in BG Tutu.  ???  Does anyone have any idea what's wrong?

In the meantime, how do I defeat the battle horrors in the Cloakwood mines?  I don't remember them being such a pain!  They're pasting Ajantis (who has the best AC in the group), but they're not taking any damage (except spells).

Have you checked that you are in the right directory for the Tutu installation? If you used the traditional install, it is in the BG2 folder, but if you used EasyTutu it is in a separate new directory. Also, the format has to be:

Debug Mode=1

complete with capitals, spacing, etc.

Semi spoiler...

Battle horrors are too tough for my parties unless I lure them out one at a time by setting off the traps carefully...

Thanks, somehow I missed the space between debug and mode.

I got past the battle horrors by lowering the difficulty level and reloading several times. :-[

I'm happy with the BG2 cheats, at least the game doesn't crash you i spawn an army of five xzars and add them to my party.

All i can say is, EasyTutu is the best thing to ever happen to BG1
Montaron- Ye goody-goodies make me sick!
Xzar- Must we be so insufferably charitable?!
