Custom AI Script vs Across-the-Board Implementation
« on: September 11, 2005, 10:16:44 PM »
As some of you who may have tried some of these components may realise, currently only Solo w/a Party is a Custom AI Script, whereas some of the rest like Stage-Based XP Caps are so called across the board, meaning once installed it affects all games, whether you like it or not.

I've been wondering if an Custom Script Based implementation for some of the script-based Mods would be better, so that you can "contain" the games affected by the Mod, but at the same time, there is the question of How Important a Custom AI Script would be to players. I know some people play largely by controlling their party members in fights all of the time, but others like to control minimally and let the scripts do the talking.

For the former, of course, a Custom Script implementation would be better, but for the latter it wouldn't be so good, as they'd have to control at least 1 party member directly under almost any circumstances...

So that being said, would you guys prefer more implementations as Custom Scripts to be selected, or to EXTEND_TOP to BALDUR.BCS ? (for those who don't know, BALDUR.BCS is a script that keeps running in the background for perpetually all of SoA. For ToB it is BALDUR25.BCs)
