One Day NPCs

Curious if you like one day npcs or not? This question was asked at our board and I am curious to see what others think of it.

I like them because of the new soundsets. I am a sucker for soundsets. Ironically, my own (oneish) day NPC has no soundset. :)

If you desperately want to add one for Fonnick I could probably be convinced to record one for you.

I don't like One Day NPCs. When I take the pain of playing through BG again upon myself, I want mods that have a lot of content. One Day NPCs haven't.

"the one that makes me laugh!" she said and threw her arms around my neck.

One Day Npc's were a good idea when there weren't many mod npc's around to choose from.  They gave you other classes to choose, characters you could use your imagination with.

Now, when there are probably more than 30 npc's in production and around 15 available to play One Day Npc's might seem to be lacking in content for most players tastes.

I liked the Bruces. I think of onedayers as sort of sketches that could be expanded upon, if the demand arises. Juna would have been a great onedayer IMO as the concept would not warrant much more effort, but then there is always Awhatshername to fall back on.

I enjoy them, as does my lady.

They can be fun to use in a "big mod" party, where the NPCs won't be talking to each other much anyway. Sometimes they do not even have their own quest, which means you can pick them up and take them with you on the big quests and not have to worry about their subquest causing probelms (ever been on a timed quest and find out Mazzy's family member is dying?).

I hope people keep making them. Moongaze has altered his NPC list http://chosenofmystra.net/forums/viewtopic.php?t=108. At the bottom you can see NPCs by class. There are a few classes severly lacking in NPCs. I think a few "One Days" could give us more choices, which is always a good thing.

One-Day NPCs are great, and the more the merrier (no one forces you to download/install/use them). And the soundsets, if available, are mostly good, too. I've played with Alassa a lot, Tashia a bit, but tried in vain to find Allison (my original installation failed to actually put her in the game, and your download links seem to lead nowehere), and I look forward to finding an Anomen-free Hessa.

In short: we need more One-Day NPCs, or anything that allows a full party without having to resort to solo multi-player, recruiting Cernd/Minsc/Keldorn/Nalia, etc.
