TR/Drop.Bancos.BG.1
« on: September 08, 2005, 07:09:21 AM »
Hi,

I just want to mention, that all of WeiDu's self-extracting exe-files contains a trojan named "TR/Drop.Bancos.BG.1".
I don't now if it is really a trojan, but my virus scanner goes amok after its the latest update.
Only the normal rar files seems to be clean.

I used AntiVirus Pro (today's update 08-Sep-2005)

So if it is really a trojan so please check the files for viruses ^^.

PS: I googled for that "TR/Drop.Bancos.BG.1", but I didn't find anything about it.

WeiDU isn't a trojan. If you don't believe this, you can simply check its source code (as it's an open source project).

You should report to AntiVirus Pro this false positive.
Author or Co-Author: WeiDU (http://j.mp/bLtjOn) - Widescreen (http://j.mp/aKAiqG) - Generalized Biffing (http://j.mp/aVgw3U) - Refinements (http://j.mp/bLHoCc) - TB#Tweaks (http://j.mp/ba02Eg) - IWD2Tweaks (http://j.mp/98OFYY) - TB#Characters (http://j.mp/ak8J55) - Traify Tool (http://j.mp/g1Ry9A) - Some mods that I won't mention in public

I didn't say that WeiDu is a trojan...
I've said all exe's seems to be infected with one.
The rar's on his page didn't (therefore I didn't attack his code or mods etc. and if it looks like that, so I apologize for that)

and btw: i use his mods and I like them ;) .

Only the self extracting ones, not the setup's in this files. But maybe it isn't a trojan and AntiVir Pro only thinks of it as one...
That's way i've asked, i was just curious ^^

Periodically antivirus programs decide that self-extracting rar files are trojans. I have all the exe files downloadable from www.weidu.org none of them are coming up as infected on my machine.

Before the latest update none of them came up as viruses on my machine too.
But as I said, you could be right. Maybe it is only my anti-virus-program which thinks that older self-extracting rars are trojans.
I just wanted to mention it.  ::)
