Problems with multi classed mage

I decided to start another game of BG1, but wanted to play solo. I have everything installed correctly and made a Kensai/Mage/Cleric. I know I kind of cheated changing from a fighter to Kensai but I want to have fun.

Anyways on to the point. I found my first mage robe but I cannot wear it. It's just a Robe of Fire ressistance but its the red color meaning I cannot equip it. The description says a multi classed mage can equip it but I cant. Is this something of a known bug or is something wrong on my end? Would appreciate any help, thanks!

There's nothing wrong - kensai can't wear armor, which includes robes.

EDIT:  Actually, that isn't true in unmodded BG2.  Some mod must make Kensai unable to wear robes.

Uh, they usually were able to wear mage robes...
The only kit bit set is Wizard Slayer in my game.

Well, I replaced the robe with another using Shadowkeeper and I was able to put that on...very strange. Has nobody else had this problem?

And btw, Kensai's, as far as I've known, could always use robes
