$10,000 isn't enough. I only bite for absurd ammounts of money. Ammounts of money big enough to cover the student loans I will accrue in lawschool.

Absurd amounts of money are... absurd. Even 10,000 is. Nobody will pay 10,000,000 for something of a market value of 50$.

Well, there you go. I woulnd't do it. Everyone's got their price, and mine is childishly high.

$10,000 isn't even enough to buy a new car.

A full hour? You're optimistic.
"Show me how you do that trick! The one that makes me scream", she said,
"the one that makes me laugh!" she said and threw her arms around my neck.
"Show me how you do it and I promise you, I promise that
I'll run away with you, I'll run away with you..."

Brunei is such a tiny, tiny country. In reference to the other topic -- Where would they get 30 billion USD? I had better not be getting paid in Brunei dollars! I wonder how difficult it would be to get a passport there, anyway. Would it even be worth the effort?

The sultan of brunei is widely reputed to be the wealthiest man in the world.  30 billion dollars to him is like 3 or 4 thousand dollars to me.

EDIT:  Yeah, I'd probably still fuck him for 10k....... but no kinky stuff!

Not worth it. Not even close.
As much as I try to value logic and reason, I also have to be able to live on and feel good about myself and what I've made of my personal world, afterwards.

Up around 10 million $ the question becomes painful to me.
Beyond 100 million $ and below 1 million $ I don't think it would be worth fretting over.

How about getting paid to kill someone?

Oh, huh. You'd think he'd want to throw some of that money back into his country, then . . . instead of using it to buy whores. Maybe? I don't know. I'm pretty ignorant about Brunei. Maybe he is a philanthropist.

I don't think you could pay me to kill anyone for any reason. There's a big difference between defiling myself and slaughtering another human being. I mean, I won't even eat meat, so . . . yeah.

Ok. Meateater myself.
I think I could and would kill if squeezed enough, up close and personal.
Not proud of it; just think it probable. But I don't think you could pay me to do it either.
Not because there'd be no price high enough, but because the price I'd demand would be far too high compared to what you could hire a pro or two for.

So I reckon that if the temptor was still interested, I'd get the hell out of there.
Thing is, if you simply want somebody to die it shouldn't matter who pulls the trigger or whatever.
If someone would pay me what I'd feel compelled to ask, obviously it'd matter a great deal to them that I'd be the one to do it. So no, I wouldn't kill for money, either, but my humanist sentiments would only be part of the picture.

I probably could off someone. Depends who it is really. Someone I liked I probably wouldn't. A random person though, meh, money is more valuable to me than their life.

Wow, I must say that current votes are very suprising to me. Either voters have a very good deal of money or a very good memory (which is even worse) ;)

$500 is the least I'd do it for, though I would barter for more. I think I could get him on the semantics of the deal, draw a line down the middle of the bed and tell him not to cross it. Then I would go to sleep, thus sealing the bargain.

That is so not going to work, Cliffette. He's paying for sex. Some contact will be involved. Assess your contact rules accordingly. :D
I dunno, who plans on being a modern day Fantine? How desperate do you have to be?
I like the thread where we are discussing the 30 billion for Mrs. Alarielle better. It's not so depressing.

Hmph. If he says "I vill pay $500 to sleep viff yew" I expect sleepage. He's going to have to be uncouth and say "I vill pay $500 to haff ze sex viff yew" if that's what he wants. And if spanking is in the clause, I DARE HIM TO MENTION IT because I will then slap him for nothing. Then I'll ask him why he has a transylvanian accent.

Edited because I wanted to.

As a perfonal reflection I always found it incomprehensible why some people do not terribly mind spending 8 hours a day for 50 at a job they hate because it pays well, and at the same time they'd never exchenge it for one hour a week, same money should it involve sex. As if listening to their boss's stupid orders was more diginifying.

To each his own... I'd prefer to give the other person access to my body, about which I don't care much, for 1 hour per week than to my will and mind, which I value much higher,  for 40 hours per week.

Good one, B. But I think it really is pretty much so.
For all the humiliation you might have to face on account of a stupid boss, there is some dignity in accepting that. You are making the wheels turn (or so the story goes); taking the hardships of life like a true philosopher, etc. etc.

Also, of course, following the beaten path feels a lot safer.
Beyond it, there be monsters, and the worst part is that you might turn into one of them if you go too far; especially as far as polite societys views are concerned.
In the end, most people would simply prefer not to face the troubling choices of going solo, I reckon.
And when you think about it, it makes social [edit:and thereby moral] sense, no?

Conventional living has its merits, I'd say.
In general, I would just rather be troubled by facing the shit inside and grow, fed well by the rich soil of the wild frontier, inside. (Poetic, isn't it?  :pirate )
Selling my body in order to get rid of a bit of humdrum just wouldn't hold any lure to me, my body being too personal to me.
Unless the lure was an extraordinarily big one, as mentioned above.
