How about BG1 spells?
« on: July 06, 2005, 03:25:37 PM »
Many people seem to think that bg2 spell in tutu affect the game balance... So how about making an optional component that would limit the selection and effects of spells to that of BG1? What do you think?

Not "on the spot", but there are some spells that appeared in BG2, in tutu player can use them while no enemy will, so in this sense it's affecting the balance.

Find Familiar.  I think Colour Spray is a bit more powerful in BG2's engine, too, but that should stay in.  Um... I don't know what else, but then, I'm not one of the ones that think they overpower things, so I haven't really paid any attention.

How is Find Familiar unbalanced ? Your PC get 6 HPs with TutuFix installed ( and who hasn't), considering how hard some of 'weak' monsters can hit that's ok imho. I got once hit for 12 damage by a gibberling and nearly the same second another one hit me for 6, without Familar I'd have been dead  :o

Gibberlings that deal 12 damage are a bug, too.  Unless it was a critical hit.
