Now that Kelsey was bad !  Damn!
Cailean: An archer NPC for the insatiably nosy!

Despite his heartthrob status in real life, Orlando Bloom has consistently functioned as a node of negative energy onscreen, sucking the life force out of all who surround him. --Dana Stevens, Slate.com

At least someone (other than me) thinks so.

Well, it's my turn here to say that I don't quite get what's going on. Kelsey seems to be thinking like a relatively normal (if bad) Kelsey at the beginning. Was he possessed? Was he a doppleganger? Was he just taken over by a demon? Clearly, I am missing some sort of detail here.

I ended up with the impression that Kelsey was the slayer after all? It was very gory.

If that's the case, I didn't get the comment about finally growing a beard, unless it's a Slayer-doppelganger.  Come to think of it, I don't understand it if he was supposed to be a doppelganger, either, as I'd assume the doppleganger was taking the female PC's place after that.

Kelsey's transformation reminded me of a kind of vampire in a book I read some time ago. He had been a normal man once, but gradually lost all of his human features (due to a cursed sword) and turned into a very powerful demon (with wings and supernatural powers, but without beard). To be able to realize his plans without being caught, he killed both strangers and public figures and took over their appearances and position for a while.

I make one reply and everybody starts talking!  ::)

What's the big myth around sorcerers and where they get their powers?

He changed into a brass dragon. I was working off info from the Monster Manual - spikes under the chin for a 'beard' and the burnished coloring.

It's not about him going evil, but about his latent dragon blood coming to the fore. Now he's got all these neato, extra powers to play with. No more relying on his 'girls' to keep him safe in a fight.  :P

Okay. The dragon blood thing DID occur, but I couldn't reconcile it with the fact that he seemed to be so Kelsey beforehand. All is 'splained!

A very imaginative and creative ending, methinks, if rather confusing.  Of course, this thread explains what Kelsey turned into, so it works for me. :)
