Perhaps it could be considered...
« Reply #175 on: September 17, 2007, 10:52:33 PM »
Perhaps it could be considered that since the Resolutions of 1280 x 960 and 1600 x 1200 were "unoffically supported" for BG2... could it be said that those Resolutions were 'unfinished business' as it were and that some super smart someone could make them actually work, and include it as a component in UB?  I would highly appreciate it.  1280 x 960 works on my Computer fairly well... the game world works perfectly and is soooo very very crisp and clear on my large 22 inch LCD, but it has just one problem.  The Dang GUI doesn't work correctly.   It's like it defaults to the normal 800 x 600 resolution for the GUI while the Game world uses the 1280 x 960.   It's so tantalizingly close it makes me cringe....  I've looked all over the net, but nobody seems to be interested or knows how to fix this so it works.  I figure if you can make custom GUI's  (TUTU comes to mind) then why can't we make a GUI that's compatible with 1280 resolutions and higher (if possible).   At the very least, the 1280 would be incredible.  Is there any one who knows anything about fixing this?  Or could at least point me in the right direction to do it myself...  In the mean time I will continue looking as I think this in and of itself would increase interest in this already great game again.

(isn't it sad for the gaming community in general, that with the technology to create games with the graphical quality of Oblivion (I play Oblivion) that we still play the old-games like Baldurs purely for the quality of gameplay and Roleplaying it has over modern games (like oblivion))

you'll have to not only resize the GUI itself, but also all spell icons, which is quite a work, and I think if it ever will be done, it'd desrve to be a separate mod.
Unique Artifacts mod for BG2ToB or BGT.

I'm not sure whether it can be done, and don't have the skills to go about doing so. I think it is outside the scope of this mod, but as mentioned if someone were to do so then there would probably be a fair bit of interest from the community!

Did anyone see this thread (download URL: http://rapidshare.com/files/47016883/1440x900_for_BG2.zip.html)? While hacking bgmain.exe is beyond our skills, it includes .chus, so it might fix your problem.

Or your problem is actually that you have the black spaces in your GUI (like in the screenshot for the hack I linked)?

Maevars assassin?

Sorry, a quick search revealed nothing. And while the logical presumption is "if we're not talking about it, then we've heard nothing about it", I might as well check.

The fallen paladins. You know, the guys the Radiant's send you to retrieve a cup from. At first, it seemed so similar to the Maevar quest, I was certain it would end up with a whole arc dedicated to it, the possible redemption of the deluded but not evil paladin guy, the slaughter of the totally evil paladin guy, and possibly an alternate path to Spellhold to those not inclined to deal with vamps or rogues. Instead you infiltrate the group... then they attack you and you kill them all. Really seems like an abruptly cut quest path.

Also, the female assassin at Maevars place. She has a unique personality, dialogue, and even her own voice acting. But nothing is ever done with her (that I know of)

About Anishai, yes, she's in Romantic Encounters, but I think there's also a one-day type NPC mod that allows her to be recruited.

I've never actually checked if she(she?) was That Anishai, but she might be, yeah. Link.

Interesting. I guess that (also) means that as far as you know, there were no further plans made for these NPCs by the original developers?
