Because, storywise, it just made more sense to make him a half-elf.  We liked that aura of straddling both worlds and not quite belonging to either.

Yes, but it only manifests itself during a romance.  :)

Vulcans can read your minds and don't need to listen to convosations. Now that is scary.

Do I want Irenicus happy?:P

See what an interesting romance it could be? He could prove more popular than Anomen if he is difficult enough. (That is not sounding like a good advert for Cailean. Sorry.)

You know, jester, Mr.Spock was voted the most "I-am-in-love-with-this-fictional-character" amongst girls aged 14 - 19 in the '80's. It had something to do with him being non-threatening. At least you never have to explain anything to someone who can read your mind. I personally just liked his ears.

So you want the romance but don't want to be romantic?  So you infact want the Cailean sex mod, yes?

Sorry, Cailean plays hard-to-get in the romance.  You have to pursue him.

I don't take part in the creation of Cailean (I don't know any programming at all, I am sorry to say), but...

...Maybe because the purpose of this mod is to make Cailean an interesting character, not to milk AD&D rules for what they got to give Cailean as many archery bonuses as possible?

Seriously, if it is power you are after, why don't you simply play with a party of "extra" PCs? Your party will be far more powerful this way...

Why go that way? Why not have the best of both worlds? I'm sure Shadowkeeper allows you to edit NPC stats, classes and races. :)

I'm sure some people will do exactly that.  And then, quite possibly, they'll find some things have stopped working.  In particular, his special items are keyed to his race and class.

;D

Doesn't stop one playing with his stats still, but at least it's something. (I don't. I have 1 character to powergame, and that's <charname>. The rest of the party are their weak squishy selves.)

Some items are keyed to stats (minimum stats is all that's allowed, but still, messing with those is a bad idea, too.)

I seriously need to stop checking in. Just makes the wait even longer.

So not only can I finally play a half-elf character without that somewhat creepy age issue, I can be a huntress, too? *licks lips in anticipation* And I like pointed ears. :)
