How to tell if you've played BG too much

7. You think why should I have to walk to there, why can't I just Ctrl-J myself there?  ::)
6. In conversations you see a cartoon bubble, with a good, neutral, and evil dialog response.
5. You get this uncontrollable urge to check out houses to see if theres any quests to do.  :-\
4. You start looking suspiciously at hamsters.  :D
3.  You start having dreams about playing Baldurs Gate. ???
2.  You start having dreams about Aerie. :o :o :-[ :-[ :-[ :-[ :o :o :o
1.   Your hand starts to go numb.   :'(

Yep, starting to get RSI in my hand, last week or so, constant pins an needles and numbnes in the right hand.
going to have to give my right hand a rest for a while, (err, wait that didn't sound too good  :-[ )
It's done it before and a month or so of rest ususally gets rid of it.
Just when I found some more good mods to play now I'll have to wait 
Oh well.

I thought it was writing fanfic. People seem to do that before they mod.

Some of my additions would include:

Trying to Ctrl+Y people during bar fights.

Trying to Ctrl+Q people you'd like to meet.

Trying to CLUA in bag31 while you are shopping and forgot how much stuff you would encounter that had to be bought here and there.

Checking romance globals in relationships that went awry.

Forgetting to eat, because no loading screen told you to.

You moved back in with your parents, 'cause who cares for a job anyway.

You tell your significant other that you gave up your chance of godhood for your lovechild.

Your spouse/dog/cat/car left you because of neglect and moved in with your neighbour who just watches TV all day.

No, everybody makes stripdowns before they write fanfic. (Hey, it explains all the unnecessary--and one-handed typing of--sex scenes. :P)

When you authomatically evaluate everything you see, hear or feel as possible mod content for one of the N characters.

When you do not play the game any more. You play-test it. Even if you have convinced yourself that it is a 'for the soul' run. Even if it is a clean install.

When your coworker called Kevin thinks that you have a peculiar accent, and you make a quick prayer (to Seldarine, obviously) that he had never heard of Baldur's Gate.

if you have to ask, you play too much.... and if you stay up til 2 am on a week nite, just to keep playing, its definitely too much!

yep did that a few times then got up a 6am . Not one of the brighter things i've done recently.

Hmmm. I don't think that's the majority trend, but let's see...

Those that would fit that category include...

St. Jo
Domi
Dorotea
Laufey
Bons (although she didn't write _BG2_ fanfic before starting to write BG2 mods)

But I don't think that's what most people have done, and no male modders I can think of started out that way.

Well, if you count Laufey as a modder, than Theodur and Weyoun would be male modders who wrote fanfiction before writing for a published mod.

 Exceptionally embarassed to admit this but after playing BG 1 for while, I started greeting people with "Heya." :-[

 More embarassing, my brother started playing BG 1 and realized where "Heya" came from. :-[

Be proud Regullus. When I first started playing and I was rejected by an automatic door, I used to find myself saying "You must gather your party before venturing forth." This was before Baldurdash and the shut-up mod.
