A suggestion, Mister Fain.

With Universal Weapons installed, it'd be quite cool to see enemies taking advantage of their newfound abilities too. Some enemy mages could use swords, for example. I don't think this would be an obscene amount of work with ADD_CRE_ITEM, and it wouldn't be necessary to go through every CRE in the game, but rather just select a few specific cases. Just a thought.

Mages with swords are inferior to mages with crossbows.

Any mage wielding a weapon beyond his hands is a joke really. I would not want to part an old man from his walking stick, but if you want to double wield morning stars, get yourself a fighter/ mage.

Just because it's a bad decision, doesn't mean it should be restricted.  The game doesn't restrict you from selecting Infravision as one of your spells, now does it?  If a mage wants to spend his first proficiency on flail and his second (6th level!) in dual wield, then more power to him.  Or rather, significantly less power.  But whatever.

Yes, you are right. Freedom of choice is what matters. I for one found out after much experimenting that infravision seems nearly useless, but it can also see through armour and clothing (little known fact!) to look for ..erm... hidden weapons and stuff.

The spell works differently then just setting the group infravision or selecting an elf!?

While we're talking about suggestions here, I got one:
Remember the hoplites from ancient Greece? Wouldn't it be great if you could use a shield with your spear?

It would be, but it can't be done in the IE.  Crashes the game to make a spear 1-handed, and there aren't any animations for 1-handed spears to begin with.

Well then scratch that idea.
