Well, it's alright but I've always liked the name...
This is just way to off topic for a BG site.

I just don't want people to make mistakes their children and their children's teachers will regret.
It's a humanitarian impulse.
Cliffette's children are going to be ever so grateful. ;D

For those who are interested "Lilly Bee" (note spelling Blood Raven) was born at 9:24 am on May 15th. She is kicking her Mommy's a$$.  On the topic of labor, a comment, sheesh, back labor sucks. :)

For those of you who were affronted by the off topicness, well, just ignore.

Yes, I'm sorry, discussion of actual babies is prohibited in a baby naming thread.

@Evaine Dian - Thanks

@JC - Didn't have the huevos to start a new thread. More options in PPG baby apparel please. I am thinking of a baby sized Rasta Kelsey onesie.

I've converted the creeper to Rasta Kelsey. The only other product option they have is a bib. If you specify which logo you want on it, I'll make it up real quick.

JC - Fantastic! I think the "Be Ye a Pirate" bib would be fabulous. May I suggest a derivative but confrontational new phrase for PPG, "PPG members rule, all others drool." Rude but highly appropriate for a bib. I will place my order when I get back from work. Thanks.

You're not tempted by a "NO PUBES" bib?

Or is that too tasteless? :(

Well, to do a new slogan I'd have to get an artist (I forget if it was Bons or Cliffette who did the pirate logo) to make it up. I can do the standard pirate one right now.

Having a generic name like "Sarah" has made me prefer more interesting ones...  My first daughter will be named Pandora Tempest Dickson.   ;D

Pandora Tempest Dickson

Please don't do that to the poor child.

Congratulations, Regullus. All joy. May she start sleeping through at six weeks, thrive prodigiously, and never have colic.  :)
(These blessings are usually more effective in the first week of life. If she's already colicky, the message is, you can make it. Three months only feels really long.)

You're not tempted by a "NO PUBES" bib?

Or is that too tasteless? :(

I did debate the "No Pubes" bib, in honor of the big one eight but then I tried to picture myself explaining what pubes were to my child and how to explain everyone else why my child was wearing a "no pubes" bib.  I am embarassed to admit but I found I could not formulate any plausible explanations for a "no pube" bib or any other baby attire proclaiming that slogan. :-[

Watch "Something the Lord Made"

vivian thomas taylor.

(this is the pbs documentary made before "Something the Lord Made")
Jansens aren't as harmless like everybody supposes!
They got them stumpy legs and puffy potato noses!
And what's with all the turnips?
Why do they eat so much root vegetables, anyway?
Jansens, Jansens,
It must be Jansens!!!
(or it could be griffins)

Thanks everyone for their good wishes.

@The Mothers - Could not agree with you more on the labor comments.  According to the books, there is some hormone that makes a woman forgetful about the birth experience, it hasn't hit me yet, and it doesn't sound like you ladies have forgotten either. ;D

@UserUnfriendly - For some reason I knew about Vivien Thomas Taylor. I don't know how because my brain is only capable of watching Red Dwarf (Thank goodness for netflix gift subscriptions) or Vh1 (Maxim's hot 100, The Top 100 child stars, Surreal Life repeats, etc.) I would like to assume this state of mind is temporary but I doubt it. :(

@Cyber - Didn't know the font could go so big. Thanks.

@Eral - She seems like a pretty good baby so far but my brother assures me that there is a "demon" baby hiding within her. (Insert frightened smillie.)

You are kinda correct about the hormone or the selective memory thing, Regullus, but I remember the most remote detail of the birth.... I can't remember the pain. That's what everyone forgets... the pain.  :)

congratulations!  i am very happy for you !
i had back labor with my first and it did suck.  but i remember every detail, even almost 30 years later, and i am really glad that i had natural childbirth.  especially with my second, who had some problems breathing initially.  if he had been sedated, he might not ahve made it.

Congratulations!  Babies are wonderful!!  And, yes, they grow up far too quickly.   :(  Enjoy the smallness.

(And I sympathize with the labor stories--oh my!  My first labor 20.5 hours--and all they gave me was Tylenol! :P  My other two, I did not even get that!  ::) )
