Ok, my ignorance is showing again, (and supposedly I am a Wine and Food snob) but ARE there non-noir pinots? (Your life is so much more interesting than mine, Rev.)
all the more reason for me to hide from it in my computer-garret. but the folks left a decent supply of bottles in the basement, so...
Pinot grigio I believe I've had a time or two.
Or at least seen somewhere.
that's the one. also pinot gris (grey), which afaik is interchangeable with grigio - [both] a crisper sort of white (though i prefer the term 'crispy' just to be a boor
). oregon has a nice grigio or two (plenty of pinots in general, i think), though the italians started it. (grigio, not oregon)
and pinot blanc (green-hued, of course
), and pinot meunier (closer to noir, never had it).
i would advise jassy to keep a brunello [altesino, when he's $olvent enough] on hand if he doesn't already - as a general rule, the women seem fond of it (also because it's Real Good, naturally). not that he isn't kept busy enough with Blue, of course... but who knows, even her rarefied sensibilities may appreciate it.
EDIT: bungled a smiley (and i was on such an urbane roll! *snap*)
