I can't escape Irenicus Dungeon!?
« on: December 25, 2004, 04:09:30 PM »
I installed a few Weidu MODs (in the order of installation - I chose the option to install all with no confirm, and I had the complete official game + latest patch + latest baldurdash, no other third-party addon):

Ascension (irrelevant)
Tactics
Ease of use
Underrep
Item upgrade

I started a new SoA game with a new character - just as usual.  I found it's now impossible to escape the first dungeon with either me alone, or with a party of 4 (me, I, J, M).  For me alone, every duerger mage is very hard, and there are plenty of them, and I don't even have enough ammo or healing portions (I'm a fighter archer specialized in throwing), as every Flame Arrow does 50 damage to me (on Insane).  And nearly 100% time I'll be held, confused, or whatever.  For me and for my party, Illych has a few helpers, one of them I found is a level 25 Cleric!  She cast a Fallen Deva to fight me.  I have lowered the game difficulty to Easy. I can certainly cheat, or load a high-level helper to my game and kill everything for me.  But how is it possible for me to defeat them with my own level 7-8 newborn babies? ???

Basically, can you still escape without cheating against your enemies? (Tactics is a way of your cheating against yourself) I guess some did. How?  Thanks.

PS - here is the complete Weidu.log:

I had escaped the dungeon already via cheating: I (fighter-archer) turned a total of 6 enemies into my party member, including a summoned Fallen Deva, a duerger mage (dead), a wizard slayer (dismissed later), the level 25(or 22?) Cleric (left in the dungeon), a monk (dead), and a jail guardian golem (dead). To my surprise, the jail guardian could hostile me, with each of his hit doing 40 or more damage, so i turned him into a (dead) friend. The duerger party mage had only 27 hit points, and died in the Fire Storm summoned by the stupid Fallen Deva. The cleric did the most killing for me.

Later, I found the Fallen Deva indeed waiting for me in the Copper Corronet - OMG, just like Minsc and Yoshimo!  The Fallen Deva is a level 25 cleric but has 0 xp in the beginning, so who would share xp with him in regular game play?  I guess it was because of me turning enemies into my party members that once I reached the Slums I found some peasants, tavern wenches or patrons would hostile me for no reason!  Nalia automatically tried to help my solo char and killed at least 1 of them. My own reputation plummeted from some 14 to 1 in just a moment... I quit the game, no save.
