RL Ability Score?

Hmm, interesting thread. I consider 10-11 to be average, and 18 is the maximum score for a human. Using those rules, I'll probably get these:

STR 11 (Most people with jobs that require strength are probably stronger than I am. But I'm in the highest range of the office people)
CON 15 (I'm not doing professional sports, but I have no problem swimming some kilometers or suchlike. Regular training, too, I don't easily get sick, and external injuries tend to heal fast)
DEX 8 (Manual dexterity is slightly above average, but I have always been abysmal at sports that require agility and coordination)
INT 14 (I have a knack for complicated problems, and easily understand most concepts presented to me, even in areas I don't have regular contact with, but I've been too lazy to make more of it. Extreme stuff still escapes me - I could probably understand it with time and effort, but the real pros are noticably faster)
WIS 16 (I'm excellent at mediating conflicts (but I don't like to do it), and understand most people's feelings, motivations and viewpoints regardless of whether or not I share them, even, with effort, in extreme cases. I tend to be calmly independent and do not easily judge. I think I would make a good profiler. My main weakess is that I'm easily unbalanced by small, "unnecessary" things going wrong)
CHA 9 (Pff...very hard to say. I'm average looking and I'm not overweight, ugly or smelly. Still, people tend to keep away from me until they come to know me better. On the other side, I have been on the stage a few times and was reasonably successful for a non-professional. The result is probably still less than average.)

Interesting again. I tried the test, and came up pretty close to my estimations, except for Wisdom and Charisma, due to a different interpretation of what they mean and being hampered by English not being my native language:

STR 13 (estimated 11)
DEX 8 (estimated 8 )
CON 16 (estimated 15)
INT 14  - 17/11 for the two parts resp. (estimated 14)
WIS 11 (estimated 16)
CHA 14 (estimated 9)

So what is Wisdom? The test takes it as a measure of memory, visual perception and language skill, most of which I would put into intelligence. I have always interpreted Wisdom as a measure of common sense, empathy, self-knowledge (the core of RL wisdom IMO) and mental adaptability, as those are more related to a priest's role in a community, while Charisma is related to your effect on the people around you and not necessarily related to you understanding them.
As for Intelligence, I suspect there are different interpretations of the results in the second part, too. For instance, I do not consider having strong opinions as a sign of intelligence - rather, the inability to revise your opinions in the face of contrary evidence is a sign of stupidity. Thus, since I'm always open to counter-argument, few of my opinions are strongly held. As to some other questions, what has getting involved in activities (what does that mean anyway?), daydreaming or having many/few friends to do with intelligence? And being able to hear if a note is off-key?

I would like to point out that the strength portion of thsi test uses onyl three types of strength to determine your stat:  Chest some arms and stomach muscles.  I find it a somewhat innaccurate rating takign this into account as it leaves leg, back and shoulders out.  Not that I'm complaining.  The avergae score in strength for humans is pretty good for a teeaged guy IMO.

  i guess i was born to be a fantasy character.  (neutral good elven ranger/mage or something like that)
  S 13, D 15, Co 16, I 16/17, W 17, Ch 10 wow, looks like i >could< qualify for ranger!
  even if they were accurate, these certainly haven't done much for me that i can tell.
  my physical stats are definitely deterioriated from 5-10 yrs ago.  but at no point (since age ~13) would i estimate myself to have higher dex than str, or higher con for that matter (and i wouldn't have put str above 14).
  int is in keeping with actual iq tests, but afaic they're of limited utility (and essentially asking whether you've learned a certain level of math has nothing to do with ability, but i suppose we shouldn't really get started on the cavalcade of absurdities, ne?).
  wis is a laugh.  perhaps reflecting a [pretty much dormant] intuition, but certainly failing to take into account my shoddy willpower/A.D.D.
  and if i had to choose the stat that's gotten me the farthest since physical maturation, it's charisma, hands down.  my first impressions in person are almost invariably shy/reserved, but as long as i keep my hideous beard-growth at bay . . .    i have too many friends to keep in touch with and no matter how long i neglect any of them they seem to still love me.  maybe it's just pity.

I took the test given by the link a while ago (twice actually) and although I was a bit disappointed by the results, I think it ends up being moderately accurate

The one I was really disappointed about was my Dex... I mean, 8?? That kinda bothered me a bit, but I guess it could be worse

Also, along the same lines, I took the race/class/alignment test too, and came up with a NG Halfling Bard... That one made me grin...

So all these tests leave me with a hankering for Longbottom Leaf and a good story, and a need to find an obstacle course... However, I find those two goals to be mutually exclusive

Instead, I created a character using these stats, race, and class... And you know what? I wouldn't last five minutes in Athkatla... First bandit encounter we came across cleaned my clock but good...

Otherwise, pretty much what I'd choose for myself. Dex is higher than I'd pick as is Wisdom, but pretty close. Cha I'd have def minned to bump Int though hehehehhee

I tried to be objective, and failed so I asked someone else to be objective for me and then we compromised on the following... 

str - 8 (except when I get mad and break stuff in a beserker like rage... including but not limited too a desk, several towel racks, the cup holder, radio, air conditioning vent, and console in my car, two stereos, a chair, mini-blinds...)
dex - 8? I'm not very flexible I sometimes I fall down just walking on flat ground and my shoulders and hips are permanently bruised from walking into things. I've also had three concusions although once it was from breaking someones nose on my forehead... that sounds worse than it is... don't play tag in the dark...
con - 8? I get sick a lot and I have migraines. Most people catch colds and get the sniffles, I almost never get a head cold I always get bronchitis with inflammation of the lungs and spend a couple weeks sucking on my inhaler... yay for weak lungs
int - 14? I'm pretty smart I guess, I did well in school without really trying that hard and I usually pick stuff up the first time around
wis - 12? This is a hard one for me since I can be terribly insightful sometimes and other times terrible oblivious due to a lack of world experience (what do you mean that guy was high? how can you tell?)
cha - 16 generally I'm the person you work with that everyone likes and gets along with. I rarely come into conflict with people and  even when I screw something up royally no one ever gets mad at me. People do me favors all the time and bring me presents when they go on vacation, it's nifty.

I'm not sure the divide by 10 method with INT is entirely accurate, if you even accept that IQ tests are accurate measurements of intelligence...

Anyway, everyone knows people in real life don't have stats.    They are game mechanics and nothing more.

Those online tests are fun, but take them with a grain of salt.

Do you really want to know this?  I don't even want to know it!  Oh well, here goes:

STR: 14 (If I put my full weight into a driver, it can usually crack jaws)
DEX: 6 (Me dexterous?  I've bumped into stationary objects!)
CON: 15 (I've never once gotten sick in my life.  And I've taken a driver to the stomach and still managed to stay upright, but boy did that hurt)
INT: 11 (Everybody tells me I'm smart but I seriously doubt it.  It'd be 13 if it were IQ/10, but I personally believe it's a bit lower than that)
WIS: 14 (I am one of the most cynical people you'll ever meet.  Cynical people rarely get duped.  They don't trust anyone, not even their own mothers.  Well OK, maybe their mothers.  And girlfriends, when appropriate)
CHA: 8 (Lemme tell ya, cynical people don't come off as very nice at all.  No matter what your face looks like, and mine ain't anything special, and you've got an attitude like mine, you're about as welcome as a migraine, and about as pleasant as well)

Hmm, according to the test I get the following results:

mostly average, the dex does seem a bit high though, and the int is nice and high, which I'd love to believe, but is more likely lower as well.  (I'm happy I did well on the intelligence test though.)
