How about including the option to turn into the slayer, if you don't approve of the fact that your loved one stole your diary?  ;)

Where do you take these nice ideas from?    :D

Happened to me once or twice. Though it was not my loved one who incurred the wrath of the slayer :)

"Show me how you do that trick! The one that makes me scream", she said,
"the one that makes me laugh!" she said and threw her arms around my neck.
"Show me how you do it and I promise you, I promise that
I'll run away with you, I'll run away with you..."

Sorry I'm late, but I love this idea! There could be conversations between the various people who read the diary/journal too...turns it into a party thing.

You mean the entire party is reading one another's journals?  That could be a bit of a problem . . .

I would feel very very annoyed if anybody read my journal. >:(
Especially Jan or Korgan.

Bookwyrme: No, everyone is reading your diary and having side conversations in the margins, that sort of thing.

*shrug* Since I can never be bothered to write anything in the Journal part of the diary (can't be bothered, would rather just play the game), my journal never has anything particularly personal in it to begin with...and thus, having my loved one read it wouldn't bother me to much.

Having *everyone* in the party look at it and write frivolities into the margins seems inappropriate, though even that depends on how "close" everyone in the party is.  The Knights of Myth Drannor--as written by Greenwood--tend to act like one big family having as much fun as they can while risking their lives, for example.  A party made up of a bunch of best friends is bound to do any number of goofy, "inappropriate" types of things.

I'm admitting to being one of the freaks. I went a mite insane during this jaunt through BG2, and just decided to use the User section to go in-character.

But yeah, I love this idea. It would depend on the party members, though...sounds like something both Imoen and Kelsey would do, maybe Jaheira as well (she does strike me as being a bit nosy). Solaufein would probably write something philosophical, or another poem...

Minsc would probably remind me to pay attention to Boo or something. :)

I like the idea of swiping journals even better...Imoen did it, why not me? :)
