Spells - Area of Effect
« on: November 24, 2004, 11:57:23 AM »
I have spent many hours experimenting with spell variables but have been unable to solve the riddle of area effect.  None of the spell variables in any of my tools (Near Infinity, Spell Workshop, the TeamBG tools) seem to relate to area of effect.  For example, how would I alter a fireball to affect a 10 foot radius instead of a 30 foot radius?  How would I alter a single target spell to make an area effect spell with a 20 foot radius?  Thanks to any who can provide help.

*Note - I apologize if I flood the board with too many questions.  Modding excites me, and I am working on a rather ambitious mod, so the questions keep flowing as I experiment.

Area of effect for something like fireball is handled by its projectile file--try checking the IESDP for the file structure of projectile files (pro) and their offsets.

Ah, thank you.  I assumed that the projectile file was a pointer to the appropriate animation, and nothing more.  I appreciate the info.
