Hessa Stats
« on: November 18, 2004, 11:26:10 PM »
Wow, I have a whole lot of material that I've done that I need to refresh in my mind, plus a lot of judging what's left to do, so for now I'm just doing a quick screenshot to get this show on the road:

One main CRE change that I'll be making from the One-Day version of Hessa to this mod is I'll be shifting her proficiency ticks in short bow to darts in order to reflect her partiality to throwing sharp objects at small creatures. Bunnies and trees, bunnies and trees...

Perhaps we can make it some sort of Bonsrule that any NPC you touch needs dart proficiency? (see Keto)

Come to think of it, see BonsBruce, too. I don't have a darty obsession. Really! My logic with Bruce and Keto was that folks that hang around in taverns and pubs *that* much have gotta have skills in darts!

* Bons peeks at Surayah's CREs. Uh-oh!

Nope! No pattern to see here! Look away! Look away! :D

Small objects like ...trees? Darts is fine as they are underused anyway and I have SK to keep me company. :)

I'm guessing Hessa enjoys mangling saplings most of all.

I agree; it's not a bad thing when an NPC has proficiencies in the lesser-used weapons.

nor is it a bad thing for a PC wizard-slayer to be exceptionally proficient with darts.

unless of course you settle for the abysmal initial assortment of enchanted darts.

Everyone's being waaaaay too supportive here, so...

Surayah uses darts? Pfffft! What kind of self-respecting Calimshite babe carries darts? It's all about the halberds! Darts are so last-month's mod. :P

I use Hessa and while I admit that she is a rotton hard-core biznitch who is great with a bow in-party, with this change, she'll now have to share the lawn darts amongst all my other party members who horde them.  Such a dilemma.  Darts, not just for 'pansy-ass back-liners who can't wield a sword' anymore.  :)
Check it out my friend!  Bling-bling!

I think throwing a halberd is a valiant display of nobility as only the wicked fight with little spikes and shivs, whereas the posh folks prefer to meet their enemy on euqal terms. Nothing like dressing up for family lunch and packing a halberd or two.

Shame on you.

I mean, how can anybody even think of kicking a poor young tree??

Wouldn't you need a lot of strength to throw a halberd?  The force needed to generate enough momentum and torque should really strain your arm muscles, methinks.

Personally, I would've thought that a Calimshite babe would have maybe a concealed knife in her ... ah ... bosom, and a whole buncha throwing thingies (throwing stars?  Something like that maybe) which she'll fling at really high speeds.  OK so now she's ninja babe, maybe I'm on the wrong track.  Again.  Bah, don't listen to me...

Surayah's more along this track with throwing knives. With some suspension-of-disbelief, I'm treating her zills as a reusuable thrown dagger (With corresponding finger cymbal sound effect, which I admit brings me great joy.).

Since I am *gasp!* working on this, I have figured out the straight dope:

Hessa's proficiencies will not change from the One-Day version. The change I'm making is in the default equipment she has upon joining. She will now have throwing daggers/poisoned throwing daggers in inventory, rather than a short bow and arrows.

So forget any rumors about me being obsessed with dart-wielding NPCs. This means you, Jason. Nyah!

who said she's using darts Hessa is.
Now, at last, the masks had fallen away.  The strings of the puppets had become visible, and the hands of the prime mover exposed.  Most ironic of all was the last gift that Raziel had given me, more powerful than the sword that now held his soul, more acute even than the vision his sacrifice had accorded me - the first bitter taste of that terrible illusion:  Hope.
