Installing the mods
« on: October 11, 2004, 04:00:20 AM »
Hello

I can not install any of the mods I have downloaded (Questpack, Unfinished Business and Banterpack). Every setup file says that it cannot find the file Dialog.tlk in the DIalog directory. But there's not even such a file anywhere in the BG2 folder. So, what should I do?

The game needs dialog.tlk to run properly, and there will be no in-game text without it.  If it's not there, it means either something went wrong with your install, or you accidentally deleted it.

what dialog directory?  on my end, mods have always been satisfied with the dialog.tlk in the install folder.  are you extracting and/or running setup.exes directly into the install folder?  ah, but some go into the override folder and some don't, yes?

First you must extract the contents of each mod to your install directory of BGII, and from there run each setup.  But if this doesn't work because there is no dialog.tlk then something is wrong (and by this i mean it probably requires a re-install of BGII).
