About NPC's character level
« on: September 29, 2004, 11:27:36 PM »
I found out that in bg1 tutu, the NPCs are just one level above your PC when you first have them join your group. This could mean if you met an NPC late in the game, he or she could be 7th or 8th level, leaving nearly no room for you to custom them.

I remember that in the original bg1, all NPCs are always 1st or 2nd level when you first pick them up. I should say I prefer this to the way tutu works on NPCs.  Is there any way I can revert this feature to bg1 style? ???

Tons of big thanks   :)

The NPCs in the conversion are just the same level they would have been in original BG1.  They were never guaranteed to be first or second level.

Well, in that case, I think I can accept it.

Thanks anyway.

Party NPCs were never beyond 6th level when they joined you in BG. As for them being one level higher than the protagonist, is your PC by any chance multi-classed or perhaps dual-classed? There is a bug in the engine which causes e.g. a 1st level fighter/thief to count as 2nd level and a 1st level fighter/mage/thief as 3rd level and it affects the level of the joinable NPCs accordingly.
