Jan's boots and glowy blue aura!

Hello.

I tried on the Boots of Jansenkind, and ever since my character has the weird misty-blue aura drifting around him. Why? Can I get rid of it. I got rid of the GV entry allusing to them using Shadowkeeper, to no avail.

Any help appreciated...it's definitely the boots!

I'm pretty sure we fixed that in V4... are you sure you have the latest?

Can install over, although if the effect is already _running_ it won't help you.

Hmmm.

The exe. is updating itself but is then telling me I have to re-run the exe. again as "windows won't let me"

When I do I get the same message again.

Any ideas?

Because you're probably running the self-extracting .rar archive over and over again. You're supposed to run the Setup-Banterpack program in your BGII directory.

Right, what rreiner said.

You don't run the .exe you downloaded again, you go into your BG2 directory and run Setup-Banterpack.exe.

Older versions of WeiDU will update themselves if they can find a newer version installed, but Wes cannot satisfactorily get the new version to then execute itself.

I figured I'd ask this here as it relates to Jan's boots.  How the heck do you dispell the effect?  I didn't see anything in the "innate ability" icon.   I saved the game before I activated them but I saw no way to return CHARNAME back to his normal, handsome self!  Right now they're laying on the floor of the Cooper Coronet cause I'm afraid to try them again.

I thought we'd fixed it so that they really and truly do let you revert back after X amount of time, but maybe I need to call in a new specialist...

I fixed the looping anim, didn't I? I don't remember you mentionning allowing the player to revert back whenever they wanted.

Okay.....finally put them on.  One question.  How come nobody, including my CHARNAME, comments when the surprise kicks in? He's po'd at Jansen when the new, improved flasher mate is tested, but with the boots, nary a word?   And nobody in the party comments ???

One other thing - I'm using Banter Pack V4 since I had to install a new hard drive so I started afresh - and I get the same blue smokey aura that MC mentioned after the time out.  Any way to get rid of it?

And I did mean to implement some commentary about being Jansenkinded but I have been too lazy, I'm afraid.

Just noticed after about 2 days of ingame play the blue aura dissipates.  Could be one of the remove protections/spells CHARNAME was hit with did it.  All I know is that dispell magic doesn't remove it as this was the first thing I tried.

I have this blue arua problem, too.  The only Banter Pack version I've ever tried is v5, so I'm definately running the latest version of the mod.  I've allowed over a week of game time to pass, but the problem hasn't gone away.  The animation happens every 30 seconds or so, or every time I change areas.

I've both reinstalled and uninstalled the mod, but the problem persists.  Does anyone have any ideas?   ???

Same problem with the blue aura here.  I installed Banter Pack ver 5.  Even tried casting them and then walking back to the city from D'Arnise keep to give time for the effect to expire, but the aura still there.

Getting rid of the blue aura:
Load a saved game in Shadowkeeper. Switch to the character, who used Jan's boots. Go to "affects" and delete ALL entries of the type "0x00D7" (if you used the boots 4 times, you shoud find 4 entries).
