How can I make an NPC change portraits at Level 10, 15, 20
« on: September 13, 2004, 05:42:55 PM »
Hi!

Total NPC-makin' novice here.  Just toying around with my ideas, and reading NPC making turorials.

Is it possible to make my NPC automatically display a new portrait (XXXXX-L.bmp, XXXXX-S.bmp) when he reaches certain levels?  For example when you get to level 15, suddenly the NPC would have a different portrait, where he looks older and more battle-scars, basically.

(If I told you the character and the reason the portraits change... it's too funny, but that would spoil it for you.)

I might even have him change portraits as often as every-level, and that might be the main feature of this NPC.  At least until I later do dialogs and voicing.

How do I code this?  What previous mods have done this?  (Closest thing I can think of is the Damage mod).

See the Banter Pack for an Anomen portrait changing example.
