Common Mistakes thread
« on: July 19, 2004, 08:43:26 AM »
Not sure if the idea will take but it might make some sense to keep a list common mistakes people make.  I'll start the list with my own lame mistake.  I can edit the one post to make it easieron the eyes if needed.  Anyone else?

1) When spawning creatures, use the file NAME, not the Death Variable.  Gets me everytime that one.
Public Warning - Seifer is one half of the crack elite team recognised by JC as the "omg we are teh funy" team!  You have been warned!

2) Set a variable when you have spawned that creature unless you want the endless spawning bug. (Or endless letters pouring out of the NPC's pockets if you were creating an item.) :-\

not removing flagging on a new CRE when creatying it as per Ghrey tutorial from a party memeber, resulting in a multiplayer P-dialogue instead of the custom one.

Backing up all your work on a weekly or monthly basis. :) Saves you way too many times.
