Iron Modder 4 Discussion (was: Just under the wire!)
« on: July 18, 2004, 04:08:53 PM »
Hooray!  I had 3 minutes and 35 seconds left when I started the transfer.  Go me.  Too bad my mod wasn't as well developed as I'd planned.  I didn't even test the last half. :(  The last... well, 90%, roughly.

Ah well. :D

I, on the other hand, had 20 minutes left. I want a prize for that since I won't be getting one for anything else  ;D.

jc told me I had 7 ½ minutes to bug-test. Found a major one and managed to fix it and send in a new version. Isn't that impressing?

I was torn away from my comp at 5:55 :(

Returned at about 9, therefore no chance of submission. Though I probably would have been embarassed anyway (that is an opportunity for contradiction, there ;))

As usual, anyone who entered with an entry that didn't make it to judging, or who simply feels like doing their own entry on the theme after the fact, is welcome to (re-)submit to me and I'll update the download pack.

Well done to everyone who gave it a shot. An unusual result for Iron Modder, but these things happen.

No, I'm implying that it's unprecedented that there were as many non-functional entries for IM4 as there were total (and functional) entries for IM1. :)

Bah!  As if I was even planning such a thing.  Why, if I recall the last Iron Modder contest, I was attacked in an alley out behind Infinity Stadium by one very short alpaca, and one very tall eskimo.  At least, I think it was an alpaca.  It could've been a dromedary.  But anyways, these hooligans ran off with my hat, and then what do I see the next day?  Why, it's Bons and Icelus, sporting new pirate hats.  Suspicious?  That's for the courts to decide, but rest assured, my eye patch is staying right where it is.

At least I wasn't alone in not having a score... 4 modders out of 6 without a score. That's... unusual. But a relief, that I wasn't alone in failing.

Congratulations to Bons, of course. To neriana, as well, who managed to get a score.

As for my own sake, I say: IM5. IM4 was just to see and learn. You just wait and see! Scripting-errors are going bye-bye.

And I'll fix my entry, asap. I'm at work now, but I'll correct the errors as soon as I get the chance.

Hey, no one who even tries this could be considered to have failed.  As anyone who's done it can testify, it's quite the challenge, yes?  Not to pat myself on the back or anything, but I've got a lot of respect for anyone who even tries this.

I should get around to fixing both my entries from IM3 and 4.  Maybe next week some time.

I fully agree with the Iron Pirate on this one, its sure a tough little cookie to crack and whilst I am rusty, I'm gutted the damn thing work.  I'll be fixing it up for the IM4 pack in the next few days for something a little closer to my grand design.

Still, I tried and I can take some small comfort in that my entry isn't the only one thats buggered.  Congrats to all and snudry I say, it was tough.

And lastly, shame on ye Jason, where's the prizes the??

*Hands a bunch of plastic roses to Bons*

Congrats ;D

Yes, it's by no means an easy feat, everybody should understand that.
