A preponderence of K's
« on: June 27, 2004, 03:56:55 AM »
Kelsey - "Hey guys, isn't it just great having a name beginning with the letter 'K'?"

Korgan - "Aye, an' don't ye know it laddie!" *slaps Kelsey on the back.  Hard*

Keldorn - "Verily! Praise be to Torm.  Or was it Tyr? Uh... Tempus maybe? I forget."

Khalid - "Why y-yes... I m-mean no... I mean... err, w-what do you think, Jaheira dear?"

Kagain: "Bah, whatdaya know 'bout it, reddie? Oops, just remembered I'm TDD.  I'll shut up now."

Kivan - "Hmm...? Sorry, I missed that.  Too busy brooding."

Keto - *winks at Kelsey* "Ooh the stories I could tell you... But it seems JC and co. don't want any spoilers up, so it looks like I won't." *Whispering* "Meet me in #ppgmod in 5 minutes..."

Khloe - "Hmm...? Okay, fine you got me! I admit it, the name's Chloe, not Khloe.  Can't blame a girl for trying though, can you? Wow... damn that Keto looks fine! Okay okay I'm going, stop glaring at me like that Kelly - it'll make you blind."

Krondor - "Aye lad, that it... bad Wolfie! Err, don't worry me boy, I'm sure it'll wash out..."

Katiara - "Are you making a pass at me?"

Kachiko - "Holy crap... You actually got Tortured Souls to work with all these other mods? Uh, what was the question again?"

Kiara - *glares evilly yet playfully at Kelsey* "Come my red-headed lover, it's about time for another R-rated dialogue sequence, if you get my meaning..."

Very cute. Of course, I accept no blame for matching up Ks with anybody but the (still rather plentiful) BioNPCs.

Ive come to the conclusion that the reason so many names start with K is:

K is a funny letter.

Or Cailean, which is pronounced "Kay-len".  ;)

To add to it, most of my PC names I use start with Ks, Kerican and Kendrick, as well as Kesha.

Though I should make a mental note to remove the K names from any planned modding I ever might do

While I normally advise people not to worry about what other modders have done before... in this case I'm going to agree. Yes. It would take a particularly perverse sort to name a new NPC with a K these days. :)

Heh, just realised I forgot Kido and Kitanya too :).  Anyway, 'a' also seems to be a pretty popular first letter for NPC names too (especially for monks ;)).  Oddly enough, as far as I can tell there are no NPCs with first names beginning with 'o', 'p', 'u' or 'w', and only one beginning with 'l' or 'q'.

My findings (the original Bioware creations, plus every non-secret NPC on PPG, FW, G3, TeamBG, CoM, BSM, AC, RPG Dungeon and a couple of other places):

A - Aerie, Ajantis, Alora, Anomen, Adario, Adhemar, Aklon, Alassa, Allison, Amaterasu, Anishai, Ariena, Avaunis
B - Branwen, Bolivar, Brynhild
C - Cernd, Coran, Cailean, Callisto, Cassius, Charlotte, Chloe, Clifton
D - Dynaheir, Delainey, Durlyle
E - Edwin, Eldoth, Elai
F - Faldorn, Fade
G - Garrick, Ghareth, Ginafae, Glinder
H - Haer'Dalis, Harvey, Hessa
I - Imoen, Inara
J - Jaheira, Jan, Jaina, Jon Irenicus
K - Kagain, Khalid, Kivan, Keldorn, Korgan, Kachiko, Katiara, Keli, Kesley, Keto, Kiara, Kido, Kitanya, Krondor
L - Lunius
M - Mazzy, Minsc, Montaron
N - Nalia, Nathara, Neh'taniel, Ninafer
O -
P -
Q - Quayle
R - Reywind, Robillard
S - Safana, Sarevok, Shar-Teel, Skie, Selence, Silver Star, Sime, Solaufein, Surayah
T - Tiax, Tabiya, Tahlemar, Tashia, Thoguk, Tomas, Tsujatha
U -
V - Valygar, Viconia, Valdenar, Valen, Vesine, Viekang, Voehringer
W -
X - Xan, Xzar, Xaela
Y - Yeslick, Yoshimo
Z - Zaiya, Zartran

Bolivar is my personal hero. :D

Tolkien had a load of Os in his books. I wonder why they never appealed to the FR audience??

's OK.  What about Hadion?
Ever wonder what an impulsive bard would do if she feared her boyfriend Anomen were turning back into a vampire?  No?  Well, read my new fanfic, Life During Wartime, and find out anyway.

Me-no-like... I can be quite childish sometimes...  ;) I like the -hadion part, but I want one letter (or more) before it.
