Caswallon and the gang from Rosenranken.de have done a great job keeping UB available to the German speakers, and I need to get back with Riklaunim to update the Polish translation, but we need more!

If you are a native (or fluent) in any of the following languages, please contact me so that we can make arrangements to get the translations going!  :)

  • Spanish
  • French
  • Italian

Any other languages are welcome, too.  :)

I can translate almost anything to Hungarian or Romanian, if need be. Although I think there's no real need for languages as "exotic" as these. :)

I thought I was one of the few Hungarian speakers in this forum. :) Looks like I am wrong.

If there's any interest in a Dutch translation, I'm willing to do it, but I doubt that...

Some people at La Couronne de Cuivre are already working on that, maybe you could ask there?

Hi. I'm from Spain, have the Cambridge Proficency degree in english and would like to help the modding community in exchange for the great time I've had using all the new improvements. Problem is, I have no idea of how to do it, so, if someone can point me to somewhere I can learn to, then I'd be willing to help.
C u around.

@Vieko and yakosparks- I've sent you the lines that need to be translated.  Thank you for offering to help.  :)

All new lines have been sent to the German, Polish, and Czech translators, as well.

@Xander- By "abandone" do you mean it's no longer being worked on, or... is that a typo, or... ?

...........

Grr.

Yep, it's a typo. If you think long and hard you might have a chance of figuring out what I meant originally.

I actually considered translating the damn thing myself... but I already had a bad experience with the Redemption mode.... my Russian is not up to the standards of poetry/flowery language.

Well, I was just curious, as an abandoned translation project is worthless to me.  :)

Do you think it will be possible to have some .d files for the five .tra in a next version ? I saw there was already wwinterj.d and wwminscub.d, but not for ubdialog.tra and wwgeneral.tra (ubsetup.tra is special).

You can have the strings of several dialogues combined into one TRA file; that's what UB is doing with ubdialog.tra (and possibly wwgeneral.tra). It contains the text of most UB dialogue except for the Minsc quest (which are the files beginning with "ww"). The respective D files for ubdialog.tra are scattered throughout the various component subfolders - artemis.d and u!artemis.d in ub\artemis\, bodhi.d in ub\bodhihunt\dialogue\, and so on.
Or did you mean something else?

Yes that's it, but I wonder if it was possible to group these files in one .d file, as wwinterj.d and wwminscub.d, to have something like : ubdialog.d and wwgeneral.d.
Because for a translation or a proofreading, it's better to analyse these .d file than to translate only with .tra files.

I don't think that's possible, as you can install all these components separately, but you can't tell WeiDU "compile only section X from ub.d". (At least I think you can't; I'm not into WeiDU arcana, though.)
Anyway, putting comments into the TRA indicating in which D file the following strings are used, should do the job as well - might be a suggestion to put in. :)

I am both horrendously bad and horrendously late about checking and replying to email.  Sorry about that.

I'm not sure what the translation status is for each language.  Andyr's now the go-to man for that.  :)
