Welcome, TucoRamirez

Your account has been manually activated because references to "The Good, The Bad, And The Ugly" are cool and should be used where I can see them as much as possible.

Thank you.

Normally, I would consider my bumping of this old thread spammery of the direst sort, but I thought it preferable to starting a new thread because the theme of my message is the same:

Every once in a while, I notice someone has registered on the forums with a name that holds such positive significance for me that I wish they would become a steady poster, if only for the chance to see their username and experience the happy associations therewith. "TucoRamirez" was one such member name (I weep, WEEP, that he never posted.). Yesterday, "underdog" registered on our forums. I can't help but think of The Dirtbombs and their cover by the same name. I cheer. I rejoice.  Welcome, underdog!

You see in this world there's two kinds of people my friend, those with loaded guns, and those who dig...you dig!

The member name should changed into: Tuco Benedicto Pacifico Juan Maria Ramirez. :D

What a strange world we live in, where admiration scares people off, and annoyance keeps them coming back. Could we have slipped into the PPG alternate universe, where Jason still has the goatee, Ghreyfain is pro-car, Kismet is unhelpful, and Icelus never worries???

I still like the names "TucoRamirez" and "underdog" in the AU, by the way. I am slightly taller, though, and I only drink herbal tea. :)

If we're doing random word association, underdog reminds me of the first football game I ever saw.

My mum was in the hospital, giving birth to my little brother, and I was five years old.  So my dad, as any good father would do, took me to a football game.

It was like negative twenty degrees (celcius), and the Calgary Stampeder's got annihilated by the then powerhouse Toronto Argonauts.  Good times.  We left before the first half.

But then I had a baby brother a few days later!  Go underdogs!

Whenever I hear 'underdog', I think of hot dogs... But then again, I'm weird...

Speaking of weird, Wally Cox, the voice of Underdog (and regular on the 60's version of the Hollywood Squares), was a long-time friend of Marlon Brando... When Cox passed away in the 70's, his final wish was to have his friend scatter his ashes...

However, Marlon decided to keep Wally's ashes in his bedroom and was reported to have been overheard having conversations with the ashes... And, supposedly, when Brando died just recently, his ashes, along with Cox's were finally scattered somewhere in the California desert...

Oh, and speaking of GB&U, that's my ringtone on my cellphone :D Never fails to get someone chuckling whenever they hear it.

They don't make westerns good like they use to. Now I hear the theme music in my head when Blonde, Angel Eyes and Tuco are about ready to shoot it out.
