Have any TC's ever been finished? EVER?
If you're just talking about the Infinity Engine, then as far as I know there's only the one.  Of course there are countless finished TCs for all manner of other games.

Well I really dont think it would be appropriate to be talking about a TC for Halo or something.. (even though thats nearly impossible)

Hmmm...maybe we should think about putting those extra points into constitution.

My point is that if it's possible for TCs for other games to actually get finished, there's no reason the same shouldn't be true for the Infinity Engine :).  Unless there's some kind of IE curse or something...

I actually disagree here. I think IE games have more elements to take into account than many other games, as well as not being designed for modding. With something like Unreal Tournament, you make a few new maps, reskin all the weapons, and it's a TC. With IE games, you have to have numerous areas, characters, plots, and so on... and creating stuff in 3dsmax is harder work than UnrealEd.

The original Doom and Wolfenstein 3D weren't designed for modding either, and look how many TCs there are for them (in case you don't know, tonnes)... :)

I agree with you about how hard it is to create entirely new areas, but a TC doesn't have to use brand new ones.  There are, after all, plenty of areas from BG1, BG2, IWD1, IWD2 and Planescape to make use of... plus you can easily modify them in IETME or even Paintshop Pro or Photoshop;).  From what I've heard of upcoming games like Doom 3, future FPS editors are going to be even more complex and laborous than 3Dsmax, plus it sounds like it'll take something like 10 minutes just to make a single texture, what with all the extra layers you need to apply (bump mapping, etc).

Creating a new creature also takes a heck of a long time and effort in the IE, but the same is true of any sprite-based game.  I cite Doom again as an example - it has TCs of Aliens, Batman, Ghostbusters, James Bond, an anti-terrorists TC, a western TC, and numerous others.  Starcraft is another sprite based game that has tonnes of TCs (admittedly area design for it is a cinch).

I do not understand how that can be called a TC  ??? ??? ??? I know that making new areas is difficult, but why it should be more acceptable than bluntly re-using dialogues and plot beats me.

Re-using areas tends to suck because you're always gonna recognise the areas, and they're rarely well-suited to the purpose you need them for.

This is very telling and makes me doubt the use of opinions different from the OMG GMs(!) althogether. We must dissent! (If anybody still remembers Alpha Centauri) :P Btw where can I download the much anticipated Other mod?

Never underestimate the power of a Male Elf Archer Romance NPC mod!

Agreed!  Cailean was the one I was thinking of too at least as far as Pocket Plane mods.  Of course now that I know about Kelsey part deux I may have to consider my options a bit further. ;)  In other words I'm looking forward to both of them.

As far as mods from other groups are concerned, DEFINITLY the BG1 mod Domi and Co. have been working so hard on.  I can't wait to play the Coran romance and considering I made his alternative portrait makes me even more anxious for it! ;D

Using the quote tags would be very helpful for clarity, Domi.  I believe Sim is under the impression that everything in your last post was written by you.

I love the Kelsey mod.  Just because I'd like a NPC with a little more of an edge doesn't mean I didn't enjoy Kelsey.  Like I've said over and over I think he's great mod.

Right, the "part deux" part made it sound like you knew something I didn't about a Part 2 that was coming. By all means, continue to enjoy Kelsey while looking forward to other mods. :)

Yes I am looking forward to Kelsey part "two". :)

Am I missing something or was someone making a joke?  I though I saw something about Kelsey part two.  Maybe I should read the forums more thoroughly.  ::)

Edit: Okay Blood Raven and Iselus were making a funny, now I get.  Hey Kish I do belive this is the second time you cleared up a misunderstaing for me.  I guess I should try not to post to much unless I'm asking a question.

Kelsey ToB could technically be considered Kelsey part 2.
