A couple of months ago I complained in the Baldur's Gate NG about Viconia not being able to use Drow gear in the underdark with AOE v18 and Greyfain caught the message because I tagged it AoE. Well, I'm in the underdark again with AOE v19 installed and while Viconia CAN use the drow crossbow of speed this time around... she still can NOT use any of the spiffy drow crossbow bolts designed to be used with the drow crossbow of speed.
One bug down... but one more to go.

Argh, silly me, for overlooking that. Fixed locally, and it'll be in v20. Thanks for the report. :)

Fine - you liked the last bug report so well, I'll give you another.
Viconia can't use the kuo-toa paralyzing CB bolts or any of the other paralyzing CB bolts either. I came out of the underdark with 720 of the buggers and nobody can use 'em!

Okay, that's fixed too. Not sure why I didn't notice any of this, since I myself have Viconia in my party right now, and we're in the UD. Must be because Keldorn is carrying all the bolts.
On that thought, perhaps for v20 I will include a weapon proficiency shuffler for Keldorn as I did with Anomen and Viconia, since his natural 9 dex doesn't allow him to use crossbows. The question is, what proficiencies should he use?
-
two handed weapon style? he doesn't already have that does he?
-
Spear. For throwing Spears since he will need a ranged attack.
Second choice is dagger.
-
Hey, good thinking. That way someone other than the PC will have a chance to use spears.
-
I must ask, why would Keldorn want to use a dagger?

In BG/D&D terms there isn't really a good reason except that he needs some sort of ranged attack and daggers are just slighly more manly than darts.... ;)
More real life reasons would include stuff like the importance of learning a shorter weapon for infighting. Daggers are easy to carry and make nice backup weapons. If I remember correctly many young squires were trained in the art of dagger fighting.

say,in the d&d core rule 3rd edition, dagger is almost the only weapon can be used when grappled by a monk(since the monk himself use no weapon at all, such act is popular among monks in 3rd e)

If you're suggesting I implement this as part of AoE, I'm going to have to refuse. Partly because it would make monks even more powerful than they already are, and that's not good for game balance, and partly because it'd be really hard.
