Title: One of those validating negative reviews
Post by: jcompton on July 06, 2014, 07:12:25 PM
As part of the process of psyching myself up for an attempt at writing the TOB content, I've been poking around for reviews of the SOA content, and I came across one of the most validating negative reviews* I've seen in a long time on the Beamhaul forum (https://forum.baldursgate.com/discussion/comment/419884/#Comment_419884).

I say that with no bitterness or irony, even though I don't agree with all of his contentions. In particular, I deliberately designed the romance not to culminate in a sexual encounter but to culminate in a shared declaration of committed love, although I can understand how it might look similar.

But if the main complaint is that it is too full of good content, then I feel that our work here is done. :)

* - The all-time best are probably the early reviews in which people say that disliking Kelsey caused them to appreciate Anomen more... which was, in fact, part of the point of offering a legitimate alternative to Anomen.

Oh wow, people are still playing our mods! Ahem. By the way, I will happily install a variable timer(so the user would be able to have their lovetalks every 20 or 40 minutes, for example).

(As for naked fun, I'm all for it - well, Romantic Encounters 1 and 2 are all about it, anyway. But that's sex for the sake of sex. As for a real romance, with falling in love and everything, "lots of courting before bed, and maybe even instead" is my modus operandi, though I do understand the opposite kind of view).

I add my voice to those who would like an option to decide the time between the banters.

Btw, I've never understood why no one adds a PID to their romance, like

"so, where were we"?

that automatically starts the next love banter.
[I know, it is kinda immersion breaking..]
