its a question thats bothered me, Vampires are ment to be or in fact ARE emotionless, but, I mean how do they know if there in danger, or if they will be attacked, how must the know fear, when they cant feel it
.... yet vampires would flee, but if they cannot feel anything why would they flee ??? its a confusing question
-
Of course they have feelings. How else can they charm someone if they could not feel?
-
I woulkd estimate their pain threshold as being higher, but certain fears and grievances reside in the brain much more than the heart. The one thing that does not die when you are undead is your ego which chains you to this world. Some say that the brain would go mad without sensory information, deprived of some senses their world is surely vexed, but they surely can see, touch and hear otherwise there would be no interaction with the material world. Most of our emotions are extrapolations of sensory information. Thus anything they feel in the fields now unavailable to them would be memories.
A friend of mine had an accident and lost her sense of taste and smell. She remembers things but vaguely and every year something is fading and consequently lost forever. I think remembering that you had all this that is now lost is what fuels their wrath. This also applies to Jon.

This also applies to Jon
You mean Irenicus' namesake, Jester?
I sometimes ask questions similar to Irenicus' myself, like how does it feel to be a mother, or sorta first to reach the North Pole, etc. So I try to imagine that I'm the mother or such. I now tried to imagine I'm a vampire, but I can't

Yes. Jon often claims that he is devoid of feelings, but he is not without memories of such feelings. IIRC he is now nothing but dying human after his elven soul has been 'killed' by severing the link to the elven community. So the intensity of his feelings doesn't come from the real intensity of the emotions themselves, but from the memory of such emotions.
Without firsthand knowldge I would think the way Dracula remembers his beloved wife to be a close idea of what current emotions for vampires could be. Shadows of their past emotions.

Isn't it just the other way around? His connection to the Elven Spirit allowed him to reverie every night, so he would not forget his long, long life. When separated from the Spirit, Irenicus was still able to feel and think, just as an average human, but he lost memories - including memories of Ellesime.

Yes, but his memories of those feelings get shallower. His new feelings do not have the same elven quality. I guess this analogy is perhaps taing my first argument a bit astray though as Jon is a very special case. I still have to think about Bodhi.

jon is odd, i have to admit that.... i mean.... he should of got himself a girlfriend, seriously
-
Perhaps he did get himself a girlfriend, actually

There were those dryads he molested. Not quite girlfriends, but hey, he made an effort...

There was also Immy around. Not that I am wanting to speak gossip here, no. Just a subtle hint is what I'm speaking here
-
the "has he touched you as he has us?" hint from the dryads?

the "has he touched you as he has us?" hint from the dryads?
No, this one is too subtle for me

think i understand what you mean
What do you think? Do you agree, or at least do you think it's quite likely?
I can remind you of a couple facts right now, if you want me to
