Title: Keto/Imoen Banter problem
Post by: laiwethel on November 26, 2004, 01:16:17 PM
I downloaded Keto V2, and have been greatly enjoying having her in my party.

I'm currently in Ust Natha, and Keto's banter with Imoen about keeping upbeat even when things are bad has come up at least four times now.  Is there a way for Keto to stop this banter from contiually popping up so I can see what other banters she may have?

Congratulations to the team for making a great mod. :)

Argh. Looks like we have a mismatched variable there, sorry about that. Will be fixed in version 3.

For now, you can do this:

CLUAConsole:SetGlobal("PGImoenKeto1","LOCALS",1)

and be sure you have the pointer selecting Keto so her portrait/circle flash when you hit enter.

Great, thanks!

It looks like it's working now :)

Can you do the same thing in SK by adding the variable and setting it to 1?  Do you have to use the "K" key afterwards or anything, or can it only be done with the CluaConsole?  Thanks in advance....

Yes, you can do it with ShadowKeeper although it's annoying in my opinion to add local variables (Affects) in SK. (you'd need to be on her portrait, Affects tab, and add the value there.) And no, you don't need to press the K key, that only affects Keto's name and select/confirm lines going out of whack, not any problem like this.

Groovy, so it should be fixed now.
As to using SK for this being annoying, I guess its a matter of taste - myself I've never enabled cheats in my game, so never used the Clua console in BG2 or BG1.  Diferent strokes for different folks, eh?  :-)

It's not a prejudice against SK but the fact that last time I checked there wasn't an interface to ADD a new affect/local var, you had to either clone or edit an existing one, or something annoying like that.

Hmmm... I just copied the line from the board here and pasted it in under the Add Global Variable tab.  Perhaps you have an older version that didn't have "Add variable".
One of the things I like about SK is simply the fact that is all point and click, you don't need to refer to cheat codes or syntax or capaitalization - you just open the field you want to change and make the change - for someone like me, its great.  :-)

Regardless, it did the trick and Keto is talking to other people, so I'm a happy camper.

Except it's not a global, it's an affect... but... okay, as long as it works.

Yep that's the important thing.  :-)  If its an affect, should I add something to the affects tab as well?  [I know about as much about the innards of the Infinity engine as I do about Finnish verb declension.... which is not a lot!  Nothing, actually...]  :-)

Thanks for the help.

I've been meaning to ask... does Shadowkeeper call it "affects"?
