Title: Announcing the Imaginary Mod service...
Post by: SimDing0™ on August 05, 2004, 05:20:20 PM
Inspired by http://www.imaginarygirlfriends.com/, which comes highly recommended, I have decided to start a similar service for the modding community.

- Tired of forum moderators telling you to make your own mod before you criticise someone else's?
- Want to appear elite within the community and gain the respect of other members?
- Just want a confidence boost so you can feel like one of the in-crowd?

With an Imaginary Mod, you can create the illusion of mod development without the hassle that comes with it. The Imaginary Mod service allows you to select from a number of experienced modders who help you make your fictitious mod a "reality".

You can either invent your own mod concept, or one of our professional writers can conceive one for a minimal extra charge. Within days you'll receive personalized e-mails and forum posts, including mod ideas, bug reports and team disagreements. Online chat via either IM services or IRC can also be arranged.

When you decide it's time to call off the mod, a variety of endings can be organised, from team arguments to harddisk crashes. Once the facade is over, we will continue to ensure the privacy of all clients to avoid unnecessary embarrassment.

Go ahead, pick out a modder to join you. Currently available teammembers include:

jcompton
"I'm always looking to encourage new people to explore WeiDU and NPC development, and what better way to do so than pretending to work as part of an Imaginary Mod team?"
Services offered: E-mails, forum posts, IRC chat, IM messages, mod promotion, WeiDU feature requests.

SimDing0
"Leaving Quest Pack unfinished for a number of months allowed me to realise how much I enjoyed pretending to work on a mod. As such, I'd very much enjoy being part of anyone's Imaginary Mod team."
Services offered: E-mails, forum posts, IRC chat, mod promotion.

Corvis
"SELECT ME."
Services offered: E-mails, forum posts, IRC chat, IM messages, intensive motivation.

You forgot Ghreyfain.  Few know how to not work like him.

I vote for Corvis, since the other two blokes cannot even show any imaginary mods in progress atm.

I have counseled many upcoming mods which will not make it due to unforceeable events I can clearly envision regardless.

I even worked hard on a new addon to the shortly to be released Dawn of the Dragonlance TC conversion which is a unique attempt to completely convert a conversion back to its original state. The pending title is Sisters of Amn or Shadows of Agony, but I will put a poll up once it is done. For those of you who always disliked TCs this will be your wakup call. Don't miss out mates.

Whom do I contact about price-quotes?  ???

I'm very interested in starting an imaginary TC, if I can afford your rates for such extensive shennanigans.  I might need to pretend to start with something smaller like an NPC.  Do I get a discount if I've already laid the groundwork for an unreal NPC in another thread?  I've "worked" on it for nearly 3 hours according to the Pocket Plane Group forum-time-logged-in counter.

I can host it over at my site (www.damthissiteisdownagain.org) until it is finished so to speak. ;)

As a member of the Return to Windspear "team", I am well versed in creating the illusion of work where none exists.  See how for two and a half years I have convinced people that some sort of production is occuring using the smallest of dialogue snippets.  I also have a lot of experience in the use of multiple accounts to give the appearance of a team.  I would be more than happy to offer my services.

This is perfect! I've been not working on a mod for almost 2 years! Wow, the answer to my wildest dreams! If we sign up for the full package, can we bargain for an online voice chat in which Corvis can motivate us in his own personal way?!  Just like he's in the room with you! omg!
