VVMADMAN has an odd script that he would run away at daytime, never to return. If your first entry into the temple district was during daytime you'd never see him. Fixpack fixes this so that he merely disappears during the day.

It's pretty amazing what's lurking in the 13-year old game that can still surprise people who have been dissecting it for years. I can only imagine how many things I'd experience anew, some years after my last playthrough...

A priest of Talos stands on the Promenade at night, warning you about the war "between the dark and the darker". I've seen lots of stuff related to the guild war - the crazy thief in the Temple District, obligatory fights between thieves and vampires,, the guardsmen in the Government District, but I've never seen the priest. And I thought I've seen most everything in the non-modded game.

Well, just a fun fact.
