Glad you got it working...  ;D

BAM!!!  Did it, have many hours of reading several forums and trying to understand Weidu's readme I managed to install Windows UBv18 with Weidu.

1.  Copied and renamed mac-weidu from Mac Weidu to SETUP-UB.
2.  unStuffited Windows UBv18 to the BGII directory (named BGII - SoA on my Mac) and added the newly renamed file SETUP-UB.
3.  Opened Terminal, no ""
$ cd /"dragged my folder here"
     $ ./setup-ub
4.  No errors at all, now to load Tweaks.

plainab I'm a bit confused now.  I have downloaded and installed Weidu v210 in the BG2 directory, every mod added went smoothly.
1.  I initially tried to transfer Setup-UB.command and Setup-UB of Mac v15 to Windows v18 replacing the files.
2.  I thought the .exe was purely a windows folder never having seen it on my Mac before and transfered the remaining 4 files to the BG2 directory.  This gave me my first error shown in my first post with script.
3.  Next I used the .tp2 file from the v15 to replace the v18, this led to the second post with script.

I followed Steve's guide then tried downloading the Windows version of Weidu (the Mac version does not have and .exe file), renaming it and replacing SETUP-UB.exe with it but it gave me my first script error.

Hmm...

If I read your two posts correctly, somewhere along the way you are using version 185 of weidu. Most copies of weidu that you would have are called setup-somemod.exe (where somemod is the name of a mod). Apparently 185 does not auto update.

Your second post about the error concerning VERSION -- The VERSION header command is something new with version 210 maybe 209 of weidu. You'll probably need to download a copy of weidu 210, extract it, copy/paste weidu.exe into the game folder and then rename it as the offending setup-somemod.exe. After that, you can probably try to re-install...

You can download weidu from here:  Weidu Download page

Tried adding the .tp2 file from the v15, it looked like it was working seamlessly but at the end it gave me this:

Thanks for the help, copying those files to UBv18 folder right now.  I meant to type what are the beta files on fixpack, I only want the fixes that won't cause me to restart my game 40 hrs in because 1 line of code is corrupt.

I don't know if it's the extremely good screen my Mac has or if it's actually playing the game in widescreen mode.  There doesn't appear to be any distortion.

Been having a problem loading the .dmg files though I think I've just about fixed my problem saving my game.  My friend gave me the files on his flash drive, I bought BGII for windows twice and each time the CDs got scratched or lost.

EDIT 10:30 MST: Every things working without an error except UBv18.  Downloaded the Windows v18 and Mac v15, transplanted the two files recommended by Steve into the v18 folder and copied all 4 (later all 5) into BG2 directory.  I have the newest version of Weidu installed, here's the error it's giving me.

I know I can probably just use the v15, but I was read the readme and it stated v18 is more "aware" with Fixpack.

Thanks.

Also Icelus, could you please tell me where you downloaded that portrait?  I've managed to find one somewhat similar but it was for an evil player; I think the eyes look fantastic for what a good Bhaalspawn should have.  Thanks.
There was a thread elsewhere who has asked the same question, but I can't find it at the moment. There was a link to the portrait. Look at the PPG forums (and use the search function) if you can find it.

No, the Mac version was not updated, so follow Steve's advice.

The Widescreen mod patches the PC version of the BG executable, so it won't work on Macs.  The data files are otherwise identical between PCs and Macs.  You can download the PC version of UB and move over Setup-UB.command and Setup-UB .

The Fixpack is just fixes.  Tweaks are in BG2_Tweaks: http://www.gibberlings3.net/bg2tweaks/

Thanks for the quick response.  Does it say which parts of Fixpack are tweaks, I really really want it to go smoothly and will sacrifice a little fun so I know I'll be able to finish.

Probably only going to install the mods I listed for reasons stated.  Is there a version UBv18 for Mac?  I downloaded the Mac version and it was v15.

Welcome to PPG!

Widescreen mod is cool. (Read the Readme, though - it's important!)

In truth, many mods work for Macs: for example, when I was coding Angelo NPC, the mod's writer, SisterV, didn't have a Windows PC, so I had to prepare a Mac version for him for each testing. And it worked! :)
Nearly all PPG mods have tested Mac versions.

So, yes, patched game+Fixpack(mind that there are beta components inside)+UB v18+(optionally - other mods)+Tweak pack+Widescreen mod(read the readme!) - should work.

With summer here I need to kill some time, having taken over 90 credits in the last 2 years toward chemistry and biology degrees I really don't know what free time is.  Thought I might try to play BGII again (for the 5th or 6th time), the last time I tried to play I tried to add everything under the Sun and the game eventually hit a glitch and I couldn't progress anymore.  I got fed-up and decided I didn't want to start over; this time I just plan on adding G3 Fix and Tweak packs and UB which I believe should work together.  The snag is I now own a Mac because of some software I need to use for my job so I don't know how the game will respond because Macs really aren't synonymous with gaming.  What is your people's opinions on the mods for widescreen resolution?  I was hoping I could get a confirmation that I should be fine, thanks.

Also Icelus, could you please tell me where you downloaded that portrait?  I've managed to find one somewhat similar but it was for an evil player; I think the eyes look fantastic for what a good Bhaalspawn should have.  Thanks.

EDIT: Just went back over my main post and fix typos, been up since 8:00 am the day before and anyone who's been to college knows the early morning after an all nighter is almost like being drunk.
