Hello -

I read about Easytutu and it sounded good. Anyone know what I need to do to get that running? Should I go ahead and uninstall tutu and BG2 and everything before performing fresh installs of BG1, BG2 and then Easytutu?

Right.  Uninstall BG2, delete its folder (backing up any desired BG2 savegames first), then reinstall + patch, then EasyTutu.

Will my SoA saved games (from even earlier) continue to work?

They should, unless you were using mods, in which case the answer is more complicated.

What about the saves I made with the original Tutu?

Don't count on it.  A fresh start is the only way to ensure you leave these problems behind.

I had installed Tutu (the old one, not easytutu; don't know which version) long back and had been playing a game. After a big gap I'm now trying to continue that game. The problem is I can't get tutu to start at all.

Since it's been so long and the Tutu instructions are all so elaborate and confusing I don't remember what I'm supposed to do. A quick check on the Tutu page told me to lauch Bgmain.exe from my SoA folder. However this returns an error window with the message '-1' and then another window that says 'an assertion failed in chdimm.cpp at line number 834'. That's it.

What am I doing wrong? To my knowledge I didn't uninstall anything. I had been successfully running tutu once upon a time. Can someone clear this up?
