I think there aren't enough changes to break mod compatibility though. Consider it safe.

Is version 3.1 fully compatible with BG2:EE version 1.3?

It was patched 12/16/2014 on Steam, I don't know if this breaks things. There's a LOT of changes in here: http://steamcommunity.com/games/257350/announcements/detail/188354123728373298
