It's clearly a false positive. See this: only 2 out of 55 antivirus programs consider this file a threat.
Incidentally, the fun fact is, not many of those programs actually know what they are doing, the fact that they know that the file is not a virus is based on the fact that it has a library that tells it that it is not, well the two that report it as virus do not, but that doesn't excuse any of them.

I use Avast myself(and Outpost on another computer), and so far it's been working fairly well, yes.

Hi Tiziana,

At the moment, Avast is not one of them according to the information on the link above, so check if your Virus Definitions are up to date.

Hi! :)
So when I tried to install Xan 14 my avast stopped me claiming it was a "threat". I put the antivirus on hold and it installed like a charm and, so far, is working well.
It gave me some problems on downloading as well :)

Try Xan's Readme recommendation: select Xan and press K. It should help with Xan's soundset.

(usually it's a result of loading an older save after reinstaling some mods. If just Xan's soundet was wrong, selecting him and pressing K (not CTRL-K, not SHIFT-K, just K) should fix that - by the way, it should work for most other NPC mods, too).

Hello,

I recently reinstalled Baldur's Gate trilogy with updated mods ("Xan" and "Xan french soundset" too) and I had a problem with my latest save. When I select Xan, he says nothing, but I read sentences from other mods. What can I do ? :-[

FYI, it appears that the version of sox included with the OSX download of the mod is old, circa 2002.  It's actually for PowerPC CPUs rather than Intel CPUs.
It's not the usual concern, but how backwards compatible is the sox-14.4.1-macosx with Macs that use older operation systems ? As there might be a reason why a circa 2002 program is still used.
Not that it's any of my concern(PC user and all), but just throwing it out there.

You're welcome.

Yes, they'd all need the updated version of sox.  And, yes, sox-14.4.1-macosx.zip is the correct file.

Thanks! I should update all my mods for sox, right? I apologise if my question sounds a bit silly, here, but there're quite a few files available via that link - do I need sox-14.4.1-macosx.zip?

An updated sox can be found on Sourceforge: http://sourceforge.net/projects/sox/files/sox/14.4.1/

Please, post all your issues here, so that they don't get lost(and all bugfixes get included into the next version)!
