I saw now that a new star wars is coming out. I fear that if it does, we will lose this mod within the mist of Kashyyk

Sure, but I'm writing something else in October(edit: which is not a mod).

You are totally right, Jastey. I wonder how the mod is going :P. It's been 9 days already :D

Shh, do not distract the modder. She is supposed to mod, not write about her mod (refer to my above post).  :)

So Kulyok, let's talk about your mod, to try to stir up some "imagination".

1- Are you going to make the player stir up emotions related to his journey? Like meeting old acquaintances?

2- Is the quest a mean to meet a higher power, and acquire something else?

3- if Imoen dies, will Melissan ressurect her? I admit I would laugh a bit seeing Imoen going crazy against you, but I don't know how much realistic it would be

4- Will giving in my bhaal essence make me become Reva... ah sorry wrong game

I don't know, if you feel not inspired, wouldn't pausing another bit do it? ;)
That's a very bad reasoning to not try to do anything.
Thumbs up for Kulyok.

It's not that you've got haste, although I realize why you wish to push it..

Aaaaand I'm annoyed - multipathing doesn't work yet, and I wrote just two normal dialogues with the antagonist(-reply-again to the flow. Boring!). Much too predictable; I don't want to writing "just to write something". Still, two dialogues means two dialogues. Hmm, I might do Imoen/Sarevok/Jaheira's reactions to the revelations - that would help. AND write the "emotional journey/plan" of the mod, the way Ardent did with his banters for the djinn companion. Yep, that'll work!

Discovered this topic just today. Thanks for thinking about a way to get rid of Imoen

By the way, I don't know the mod, but seen and considered that most of the times I play an evil character, it would be great having smart evil options ;)

So, I wrote the Readme. Because the mod might be unfinished, the scripts might be non-existing, but you got to have a Readme, right? (/sarcasm)

Oh, I agree. Fortunately, while suggestions are always are welcome(read: I'll steal your ideas shamelessly), I know the plot, so I'm going to follow that.

And I also read and edited the stuff I already wrote for the main plot.

So. There will be no progress in the weekends, none whatsoever, but I will do some stuff today and post.

Good luck with that! Sounds interesting, for sure. Not too long ago, I would have been excited by the thought of not having to feel guilty about leaving Imoen in Brynnlaw, but playing the beginnings of BG1 and BGII several times for testing, I noticed that with a little tweaking, I probably could stand BGII Imoen, too.

One suggestion concerning your tactics: If you only post progress, it might work (because you have to generate progress, first). If I see people post about what they want to mod - in detail - or, worse: if I see people ask the players what they think about what they want to mod, I usually expect the mod to die sometime in the process. -But that's not what you are doing here, so no prob. :)

I've been writing a small quest mod for ToB(with Nalia and everything). Well, writing's a relative turn: I just looked at the dates, and it turns out I've last edited the dialogue file... when? That's right, it was the 1st of July. Two months ago. Which means the mod has all the chances to become Aklon we all know and love spent those weeks being... well, dead.

I remembered the way I wrote Back to Brynnlaw - I placed a thread on the development forum and updated it every day, and it helped - the mod was completed fairly quickly(two weeks? don't remember). So I'm opening a thread here, hoping it would improve the mod's progress.

Of course, it could go the other way, and I'll never finish it at all. But let's try.

Basic facts: reusable areas(since I'm not an area artist, alas); Nalia features a bit; if you're very evil, you can watch Imoen die; you might see Cyric and his cultists.

(Here we go)Progress of sorts:

I opened the file(veeery small one, about 35k) and decided to cut it into several pieces.
Piece 1 - side quests. All small separate quests(and strangely, they're a pain to write) will go here.
Piece 2 - Nalia's conversations. I am not very good at banters with Bioware NPCs, but Nalia is a quest-giver of sorts here, and the player might even want to take her into the party(it's completely optional, though), so she does have conversations. (When they're finished, I might kidnap Jason Compton and ask him to have a look at these.)
Piece 3 - the main meat of the mod. People you meet, people you kill, people you choose to forgive... or not.
(and Bioware NPC interjections here. Again. Hmm, you know what? I'll just add them later).

That's it. Aaand now I'll go and read this stuff, and maybe even write something new. :) It's all about writing the story, after all.

(and, no, this mod is absolutely not ready for a forum yet. Though I do hope it will be. Eventually. If I don't abandon it for two months again for SWTOR 3.0 or something.)
