Thanks for following up.

I'll certainly be keeping my eye on it - it's an exciting development to have this new release, and I hope it continues to be polished by its devs.

Hello MacReady,

There's an answer to your question: http://forum.baldursgate.com/discussion/comment/205926/#Comment_205926

@Son_of_Imoen - The answer to his [=MacReady] question is nope, but many modders being beta testers, they could easily updated him on the matter.

So like I said, there's many a helpful modder to be found to help you out.

I hope this suffices to tempt you to look into BGEE compatibility, I for me would be much obliged; I've read more comments from people dearly liking Hard Times, even though they failed to pop in here on this topic on the Pocket Planes

(I tried to link a Google search for site:forum.baldursgate.com "Hard Times", but it gives me an url full of specifics about my browser, country etc., not a general url).

Hello SoI.  I remember you from the Bioware forums. :)
Nice! I'm totally new in posting here I see, though my account on this board exists for some time.

Has Beamdog published any specs in terms of how their edition differs from BG1 from a modding perspective?
I posted your question on the Baldursgate.com forum: http://forum.baldursgate.com/discussion/comment/205761/#Comment_205761

I wouldn't know the answer myself, I'm not a modder, just some player that's addicted to using mods. I do like some of the things that are done with the Enhanced Edition and the things that are dislikeable about it are being worked upon. Patches appear in rapid succession. There's been some 4 patches already in only 3 weeks after release. Not only fixing the game-breaking bugs, but also in response to fan feedback, about monster spawn rates and the intro movie for instance (Nietsche's quote is back).

I can't offer any help but posting your question there, but there's a lot of modders active behind the scene in close cooperation with Beamdog, so if you need specific help, you can find people like Avenger_teambg, CamDawg, cmorgan, Ascencion64 and others I forgot to mention on http://forum.baldursgate.com/categories/modding if you want more tech-info about the game.

For know I'm hanging a bit low with BGEE. Things like improved journal system, each character it's own selection circle color, auto-adjusting dialogue box, bug-fixes, new characters and area's are nice, but for me it won't really be an enhancement without the NPC1Project, SCS, RR and Hard Times of course, among others. You modders are still indispensable!

(and I'm still playing Tutu, I absolutely love it  :-*)

Hello SoI.  I remember you from the Bioware forums. :)

I can guarantee you that the mod is not compatible in its current state.  Has Beamdog published any specs in terms of how their edition differs from BG1 from a modding perspective?

I should warn you that I haven't taken the plunge on purchasing the EE, though.  I'm a bit skeptical about it at present.  The new opening cinematic was quite weak compared to the original they replaced.  More importantly, the fact that they'll never be able to render those beautiful maps properly due to the original artwork being lost is tragically disappointing.  The reports of crashing are troubling as well.

Still, though, if they've published decent specs I'm happy to look at them.

Dear MacReady, if you're still active? I absolutely love the Hard Times mod, I never play Tutu without it.

Now that Baldur's Gate Enhanced Edition is out, the Ring of Wizardry that can be found early on plus all the other easily available items on a Swordcoast that's supposed to be suffering from an Iron Crisis, feel cheesy. I miss the Hard Times in BGEE

The question I'm going to ask will be obvious: is Hard Times compatible with BGEE and if not, will you update it to make it compatible?

It would make me and a lot of other fans very grateful.
