I do not know about TutuGui or the remaining BG2 font.

I couldn't check with REALMS.BAM as I remembered I had opted for the space saver installation of EasyTutu which removed BG+TotSC from my computer. I could of course reinstall BG to get that file, but I was wondering whether TutuGUI already does the same thing? Btw, I noticed a few in-game writings (e.g. savegame names, character's stats and sheet) are still displayed in BG2's font; do you happen to know whether REALMS.BAM would relate to those, too?

I'm so doing that!

You can actually do the same with REALMS.BAM. This one contains the big golden font used for the interface headings, which have become blue in BG2.

Hi Echon,

yes, it did work as intended, and my EasyTutu installation is now correctly displaying the BG1 font (which is awesome) :)

I assume it works as intended. And you are welcome.

Or suffice to just drop it in Tutu's override folder (which is what I thought I'd do before learning that I'd need Near Infinity to get the file to begin with)?

Correct.

Do I understand correctly that I should then use Near Infinity to perform the inverse operation once EasyTutu is installed (that is, moving NORMAL.BAM back to the .BIF file it came from)? Or suffice to just drop it in Tutu's override folder (which is what I thought I'd do before learning that I'd need Near Infinity to get the file to begin with)?

It is found in one of the BIFs, which are archives like ZIP, RAR, etc. Get Near Infinity, locate it in the BAM tab and export it.

Hi,

I've just performed a clean full install of BG + TotSC + patch, and I can't seem to find the file NORMAL.BAM anywhere  ??? Do you happen to know whether TotSC uses a different file for the font?

Thanks, Echon! I will try that.

The standard font can be found in NORMAL.BAM. If Tutu uses the same file then moving the original BG BAM to the Tutu override folder should do the trick.

Hello.

Does anyone know the name of the in game fonts found in Baldur's Gate and Baldur's Gate II?

I'm especially interested in the original Baldur's Gate font, as I would like to restore it after installing EasyTutu.
