CTRL-I scrolls through the available animations for the selected sprites. That's why you get the turn-and-face, etc. One of the side effects of running the animation sequence is that you get banters, but it's kind of a bonus feature, not necessarily the intended event. You might even spam CTRL-I for several minutes straight and not get a banter, and then round a corner or whatever and get one that could have run before.

You won't be able to use CTRL-I to get banters when you're playing in multi-player mode, only in single-player. Just so you know. Also, since you're running what's pretty much an animation debugger, you can increase your chances of getting a particular NPC's banters by selecting only that NPC rather than the whole party.

Hey, Jason.

Unfortunately, something's still screwed up. Ctrl-I causes a character string to be displayed--SPPROIMG and SPFLAMES are the ones I've seen--and the characters turn to face one another like they're speaking, but the banter never appears. I'm guessing the text strings are identifying specific banters, but I don't know why the banters themselves aren't firing.

The odd string displays are expected behavior, although the text is unrelated to the banters themselves. Someone who has more thoroughly picked apart the Infinity Engine might know why it does that, but it's not relevant.

The innocent explanation could be that you'd used up all the banters... not having played for a while you might have forgotten just how few combinations some NPCs have, even with expansion mods...

Well, I solved my own problem...kind of.

Ctrl-I didn't work on the latest saved game, so I went back to progessively earlier ones until I found one that does. I'll have to re-do most of level 4 of Watcher's Keep, but it could be worse.

Guess I'd better swear off ShadowKeeper for a while.

Thanks for the help!

It's CTRL+I.

Thanks so much, Jarno! I do have the Console installed, and I remembered there was a way to force the banters, but I couldn't recall what the key combo was.

Thanks again!

Well, you can use the Console, and once you have enabled the cheat codes with:
Code: [Select]
CLUAConsole:EnableCheatKeys() Using the:
Code: [Select]
CTRL+0 -keys, should start some banter talks, but they are really random, so, pushing many time might be required.

I'm playing through ToB for the first time in a while, and I've stopped getting the NPC banters. I have both the Flirt Pack and the Banter Pack installed, and have throughout the game. But now, though the flirts are still running, I'm not getting any NPC banters, either the original Bioware ones or the ones from the Banter mod.

This started after I tried to Shadowkeeper some Boots of Speed for Imoen (she was the only one in the party without them) which screwed something up and I had to revert to an earlier save. Since then, no banters.

I thought there was a keyboard command that forces banters to run, but I can't recall what it is. If that's not available, any suggestions on how to get the banters running again would be appreciated. I got the "change Sarevok to CG" banter already, but had to revert to an earlier save and now it won't run again. Very frustrating!

Any suggestions appreciated.
